We have difficulty with the short antennae pulling in our favorite public radio station. It is better as a CD player.

Does it plug into the wall

Yes, it plugs into the wall, or works with 6 UM-2 ("C") batteries (batteries not included).

How is the volume? We will use it for our daughter who has a brain injury and want to be able to turn the volume low.

The volume should be above average. Anyhow, you can use the accurate and wide-range volume control to set the volume at your favorite level, including very low level.

Can it be played through PA system?

Hello- No, I do not see where it has hook up for a PA system. It is a small, self contained CD player that does not do much more than sit on the counter and play CD's and radio.
