For a 5.7 is perfect, so I would say xtra large is good from 5.5 - 5.9

Q: What type of fabric are these?

It's 80% Nylon and 20% spandex. Very light weight.

Q: Are the compareable to athleta trekkie north joggers?

I love the pants. They are comfortable and the texture of the weave is wonderful. I know that I used them under my pants when I climbed Mt Etna. But I am not familiar with 'trekkie north joggers.'

Q: Does this make swishing sound ? Is it soft material ?

Not really. Not like stiffer fabric does.
