How bright it is in the dark? If i put it in my bedroom would it annoy me?

Hi there Alice. These clocks are so very cool BUT i wouldn't recommend putting in a bedroom as they do light up a dark room very strongly. If your happy to have it on another wall, in another room, in your home you WILL love it!.

how would the clock display 11:47 ?

It is quarter to twelve o'clock.There are 4 squares under the letters, so for 11:47 two of the squares would light up. For 11:46 one square would light up, 11:48 three squares would light up and lastly 11:49 all 4 squares would light.

Can this clock run on batteries?

no this can not run on batteries, the clock must be plugged in to a wall outlet in order to function. If wall outlet is removed the clock resets and there are no backup power source options for this device
