This key shell does not fit properly without pretty extensive modification.
This key shell is not the same as the original. Upon receiving mine the first thing I noticed is that it did not say land rover on it. Others have mentioned theirs did have the land rover logo, but mine did not. Also, when you compare it to the original key, this shell is a few millimeters thinner, and so are the components. You won't be able to just transfer your old key to this shill without modification.I was able to make mine work, but it took me 2 days and a good amount of modification. Here's how I eventually got mine to work...You will need:* Needle nose pliers* A paperclip or thin piece of metal (I used a small key ring that I straightened out)* Small phillips screwdriversSteps:1.) I flipped the original key open. Then put it in a plastic baggie (this is to catch the small parts from flying everywhere). I inserted the needle nose pliers into the small gap on the key (revealed once the blade is in the open position) and gently pried them open until the original shell popped open.2.) Unscrew the one phillips screw in the new key with the blade flipped open.3.) Repeat step #1 with the new key4.) Transfer the electrical components to new key. This fits pretty snug.5.) Take the original key blade, there's a small pin that holds the actual key blade to the angled chrome piece that flips open. Grab your thin metal paperclip with pliers and gently push on the pin until it pops out. Once it starts coming out from the other end you can grab it with the needle nose and pull it out.6.) Repeat step #5 with the new key.7.) Make note of the two blades. Notice the new/blank key blade is actually shorter on the end that goes in, and slightly flatter.8.) I used 80 grit sandpaper to file down the original key blade so it was both shorter on the end and flatter. Keep going and testing to see if it fits into the new piece. It takes A LOT of sanding. Keep going until they're about the same and keep test fitting so that you don't file it too flat and the pin won't lock it into place.9.) once the blade fits into the new angled part, insert the blade, and lock it into place with the pin.10.) Re-assemble the spring, & button, make sure the spring is locked into place (there are groves on the button as well as the shell.)11.) Once spring and button are in place, Wind the spring (I believe it was counter clockwise, but I forget) so that the blade is under tension. I wound mine 360 degrees or one full rotation.12.) Once the key is would up and back to its closed position, place the top part of the shell over the button and make sure the button is locked in place.13.) close the shell and snap it shut.14.) Insert the phillips head screw15.) Test and make sure key works.

Key SPring Issues
Overall the product has potential, looks like original, but had issue getting key (using old key, not blank that comes with it) to spring out, although it was under tension by spring, when I closed the new replacement lid tight, the old key would not easily spring out and must be pried out by finger and locked into place like normal. Friction of the new cover too much for the spring too overcome. If old key would have sprung out like expected, absolutely would 5 stars.

Do not purchase, don’t even think about it!
Anyone who says this will work with your factory Range Rover key is not truthful. This absolutely will not function with the Range Rover metal key. The tolerances are Incorrect with the plastic and it will not open without your pulling it out with a fingernail or other device. The comments say there are tricks with changing the blank for the factory key by removing the pin and swapping them out. Good luck with that. It’s VERY difficult and still does not work. You have to destroy your factory key before you find this out. DO NOT BUY THIS! I only give it one star for fear that no stars will not register for a review and someone else will try it.

EXCELLENT REPLACEMENT
The media could not be loaded. This is just as the original. Easy to install. Took minor adjustment but well WELL worth it.

Excellent quality
Very good quality. You cannot tell its a replacement. It looks identical.I am not sure why other people say here that the blade doesn’t fit right. The locksmith transferred the blade (just the blade, not the spring holder) and circuit to the new shell and everything is like new.It looks original and works perfect.
