This fan is a little noisy on high, but I like falling asleep to the humming noise. You do not have to switch the whole fan around to pull air out out of the room. You just hit a couple buttons at the bottom and it will reverse. Very good cooling performance, it really does a nice job of cooling down a room quickly. I definitely recommend this fan.

Well you know, oddly enough I never got around to using the Genesis Twin Fan High Velocity until today, late in the summer of '26... several months after I ordered it. Frankly my expectations were not high. I wanted a large window fan and none were available for the money I was willing to part with. So the Genesis Twin Fan High Velocity sat around in the box for most of my scorching Alabama summer....and I finally put it in the window where it sat some more. Today, long story short, that thing really pushes air! Most impressive....and for the pittance I paid for it. Wow!!! I can see now why the ratings run high on this thing. Get one for Most High Number One Happy!

I moved into a new place where its harder to step outside to smoke, as I will make a lot of noise climbing down stairs disturbing the family below. As a result I started smoking in my room and required a powerful exhaust for ventilation . I already had a pretty good exhaust fan from a brand called Duracraft (have a small table fan from the company too) , not really sure how I cam to own the thing but it worked like a charm and had enough functions to make it flexible to switch each blade manually in or out and each with its own power setting. Thing worked like a charm and kept the room fresh untill recently something knocked loose and seems to create a loud unpleasant squeal in one of the fans. lacking the tools and time for repairs I found a quick replacement from a dollar store. The $30 POS Comfort Zone replacement was a complete disappointment, not only it was completely featureless but the one thing it was to do it was quite weak at doing. And since sun has been invading the earth as of late, I have invested in an AC but cannot get rid of the pockets of stale smoke from the room. As a result I found myself on Amazon looking for another replacement from Duracraft. Either the company shut down or got bought out a while back since I could not find anything. The next best thing was this model being promoted on Amazon top picks and all accounts seem to confirm it at least is powerful enough to create good suction. I have had it for almost a week now and I can confirm it is a worthy replacement. Its remarkably silent on its highest settings and walking in to the room after work feels quite fresh. However, I do have to admit for the price I paid, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of options and flexibility as my beloved Duracraft. Not only can you not control speeds of individual fan, you cannot move the vents around to direct airflow. The knobs that switch the direction of the airflow feels a little brittle. I get the feeling fiddling with those things too often will result in the plastic knobs breaking in my hands. The thermostat is alright but not much useful for me as I just like to keep the thing on full blast on cool nights and open the adjacent window to let some fresh cool air in like tonight as I am typing this. The biggest thing is that the fan actually makes a electrical hum on lower speeds. Its almost as if the motor has to force itself to slow down. Like pushing the breaks on full throttle. None of this is a deal breaker as I mostly use it to push out smoke and stale air from the room so as long as it does the one thing it can do I can bear with the lack of options. I donated the 30 dollar replacement to the family downstairs as they have a habit of setting off the alarm when they cook. I was thinking about trashing the older model but this particular made me appreciate the option my Duracraft allowed me so I am thinking of cleaning it up and taking it to a repair store to get it fix so I can have two fans on each window for excellent airflow on cooler days when the AC is removed.

I wanted a decent window fan for the fall and especially the spring to draw the cool air in at night when there is no breeze. I have only used this fan a few times, but it seems to be doing that job so far. I have enjoyed using the temperature settings so that my room doesn’t get too cold at night. I have noticed that if I set the temperature to 60 degrees, it really means 65. In my video, you can see when I use the temperature settings, the fan runs at 60 and shuts off at 65 even though the temperature in the room was about 67. I also noticed that the fan shut off one night when I had it set to 60 but the room temperature was about 67, and I think it was because it was so cold outside at 30 degrees. I imagine the fan can’t read the temperature inside the room when it is significantly colder on the windowsill where it sits. I don’t really mind this discrepancy, though, because I like my room close to 65 degrees at night, and I can still achieve this so far by setting the temperature at 60. I love that it is so easy to change the direction of each individual fan with the flip of a switch, as you can see in my video, and I have been running it with one fan blowing in and one blowing out. I personally don’t find the noise from the fan irritating, though to be fair, I have another fan in the room that drowns out the noise of this fan somewhat. It isn’t the most powerful fan by any means, but for a smallish window fan, I think it has decent power, enough that it has affected the temperature of my room. As other reviewers have made clear, this fan does not come with a remote, and while that would be a lovely perk, I won’t count it against the fan since it was not promised to me and it is not a necessity for my needs. I am happy so far. Based on reviews of these double window fans in general, I am a bit worried about durability, so if this fan stops working in some way or otherwise disappoints, I will try to return to edit my review.

I did a lot of research before buying new fans. I can't recommend fans from this company enough. I've now owned their fans for 4 years and the quality has been great. They're generally quieter and pull in a lot more air than other fans. I purchased this fan this week and used it for the first time last night in a narrow window on the south side of our home (the hottest room in the house). You could feel the room start to cool down immediately and this morning the room was just as cool as the north room in the house, a first in the 27 years I've owned my home.

I simply cannot understand how someone designing a product that may be used in a consumer's bedroom could decide to install indicator lights that light up an entire room. The lights on this fan are too bright, but this is an easy fix with some electrical or other opaque tape. That is my one gripe. This fan is quiet when it comes to fan noise. I prefer a bit of white noise while I sleep, and this provides it. I would not rate this as a noisy fan, but instead an acceptable level of fan noise. Even for a bedroom. If you need a quiet fan, this one might work for you. That said. It's certainly not silent. The in/out feature of this style of fan is very powerful. I have a small room with a single window, so creating a draft with the door closed is impossible. With the fan I am able to circulate the air in the room. The room feels cool and fresh even on a hot summer day. I had been using the A/C frequently, but since i had gotten the fan I have used the A/C twice. When it's around 95 degrees or warmer out I find I need the A/C. Otherwise, the fan does enough work! I haven't tested out the temperature feature just yet, as I prefer the fan always on for the white noise. This model did not arrive with a remote if I recall correctly. I wouldn't have used one anyhow. Overall, this is just an effective fan. Would recommend. Especially excellent for horizontal sliding windows as you can stand the fan up on its side. There are instructions with the fan as to what I mean if this is a new idea for you. Would buy again.

Moves a good amount of air, better than the budget fan we bought alongside it. The simple switches to go from blowing air in to exhausting air out and ability to control each fan independently that way is very nice for venting a small room. This fan is unfortunately loud. The real problem with this fan is at the two lower speeds the fan has always made an electrical white noise/buzz behind the sounds of the fan that is admittedly very off-putting to everybody who's ever encountered the fan. At full blast sound is comparable to our 20" Lasko fan on the lowest setting, however a 20" box fan moves a significantly larger volume of air. We bought it two years ago, and it's still working but starting to show signs of the slow down death spiral. Given we have two very shaggy dogs that's average fan lifespan for our house, nothing great but no red flag.

Love this fan. I use it to blow air from a bedroom mini-split down the hallway. The twin fans are powerful and effective at cooling. Took a bit to figure out the controls but overall am very satisfied. The unit comes with feet to use table top or without in a window. Well worth the $.

I love how you can make the fans blow opposite directions. I have 2 windows in my room for air flow but the one window is pointing towards the main road and it’s spot noisy. If I don’t have it open the air in my room gets stain and it’s super hot. But with this fan I close that window and put the fan in the other window and have the fans working in opposite directions and it keeps the air moving and it’s cool in here. Better than it’s ever been. However $86 is a bit pricey for a window fan. I bought one of these from Walmart like 10 years ago and it was like $20. Im just hoping I get at least ten years out of this one given the price.

Love this fan. Quiet enough to sleep in the room while it's on. About the same amount of noise as a regular stand up fan. Cools the room quickly if you keep the door closed and the curtains shut to block out the sunlight. Almost as good as an air conditioner. I put it on when I left for work at 1pm and when I got home at 11pm my kitchen was sweltering but when I walked into my bedroom, it was nice and cool. I love that the fans are automatically reversible to blow air out if you want and they are independently controlled so you can have one blowing in, one blowing out if that's your thing. You don't need to remove it from the window to turn it around. You don't have to remove this fan from your window all summer if you don't want to!

The only issue I have with this fan is the fact is is not a perfect vertical fit for our windows - as noted in the photo, there is approximately 3 inches between the top of the fan and the window sill. With the expandible, accordion like slants on the side, it can fit horizontally but there are no such options for vertical fitting. Because I could not fit it snug both vertically and horizontally, I elected to sit it on it's legs (included but much be attached) on the sill and it fits perfectly on the sill which is approximately 3 inches wide. Despite the fact it is not a perfect or close to perfect seal in the window well, it does an excellent job of cleaning the air on exhaust or cooling the air on the "in" fan setting. An added bonus on the exhaust setting is that it heats the room somewhat. The fan is in a basement with double slide windows as evident in the photo. I have only been using it for a few weeks but so far, no complaints - noise is reasonable such that after a few minutes you forget it's running. I must confess to having the odd cigarette in this room and the exhaust setting clears out the smoke and smell. My non-smoking wife attests to this. I recommend it and would have given it 5 stars had it fit more snugly vertically.

As the headline suggests, this is not a quiet fan. however, if you want a fan that does the job and don't mind that it needs to make a noise to do it, then this fan is for you. It works really well and the option to change the direction of the air is great. I have used this to bring cooler air in from outside and to move hot air out from inside. Overall, this is a good fan.
