Fluker's Cricket Quencher Original, Provides Clean Water to Crickets and Feeder Insects, 8oz

I have been using this for Hissing roaches, darkling beetles, mealworms, and blue bottle flies- but it is very versatile and I wouldn't hesitate to use it for many other small critters that aren't safe with standing water. It has no noticeable smell, and the best part is that the dried out crystals can be rehydrated several times and they will return to their original consistency! I have found that you can add extra water to the fresh gel and it will absorb it, turn a bit more jelly-like but still be a safe thickness for small pets... Then it will slowly dry again and returns to individual bouncy crystal form. The crystals can be a bit difficult to pick up, they are too slippery for tweezers and shaking some out usually has me dropping a few. I used my fingers to pick a few out after the tweezers didn't work, but noticed a couple pieces in the jar started growing mold so I stopped doing that and after removing those pieces, thankfully I haven't seen it return. I suggest using a plastic spoon to scoop some out as needed, or stabbing pieces with a toothpick would probably work for small amounts. I usually use an empty drink cap as a dish, sometimes with a wet cotton round underneath them to keep them hydrated longer. I can't comment on the taste personally, but they have minimal ingredients and my pets seem just as happy to drink from these as they are with wet cotton balls- Possibly even with a preference towards these? They are great to have on hand, and rehydrating them will make a jar last for a long time!

Super helpful for feeder insect care—keeps crickets hydrated without the drowning risk of an open water dish. Easy to portion into a small container, and it lasts a while. Great staple if you keep feeder insects on hand.

So much better to hydrate insects than using a sponge. Great price for the amount you get. Seems like it will last awhile.

My crickets love these water balls. I put q couple the enclosure and the crickets will drink from it.

First off, this stuff is great for helping keep your feeder insects alive. I have no complaints. I am upset with the title of the product, where it states "7.5 lbs." That would have to be at least a gallon sized container. The price was too good to be true, and for good reason. It's weird to label it as the wrong size.

The dubia roaches seem to like it. I tend to use it with carrots or other foods with fairly low moisture content just to make sure they arent dehydrating. If im feeding tangerine slices i avoid this simply because i am not confident that these are super healthy for the roaches to consume (because what goes into the roaches eventually goes into the lizard) i also noticed that when i offer this my roaches smell a little worse than normal. Small price to pay to ensure my feeders stay alive!

I am never good at judging container sizes online so I was glad that this container was just what I was hoping for. I am using it for crickets, dubia roaches and mealworms at the moment and it has made it much easier to give them the moisture they need. I didn’t find it to have an odor, they seem to last a long while as I am only using a bottle cap full every few days and they work well. I will definitely buy more in the future.
