Winco Aluminum Stir Fry Pan, 11-Inch,Silver | Deep sides, Great for Sauteing, Searing, Frying and Restaurant Kitchens

It's perfect for creating creamed pasta dishes like carbonara or cacio pepe. It's a bit heavy but the thickness of the aluminum material is about 5mm or 1/8in that is great for heat retention at the low temperatures needed for the creaming process. The size is big enough to make large portions. If you can't buy an Italian pan, buy this one.

A couple shallow gouges in the metal, near the rim, when I received it (as expected from other people's reviews), doesn't affect performance. Otherwise this is an A+ pan. The pan is heavy duty, built like a tank, with bombproof rivets and handle. The (silicone?) handle cover is very tight, robust and good quality. Thick pan, it's not lightweight but I like that about it. Glad I bought it... first thing I cooked was cacio e pepe, it was the best one I've made yet. Also, excellent value for $50.

First of all, I love the size of this pan. I use it for a bamboo steamer basket while boiling pasta etc,. keep in mind acid will turn the aluminum dark don’t bother scrubbing it. It’s the nature of aluminum

This is a great pan for making pasta in and getting the sauce to emulsify by tossing the pasta water and sauce together (mantecatura method).

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT place this pan in a dishwasher. This pan is listed as dishwasher safe on the front page of the Amazon main listing for this product. Aluminum cookware should never be placed in a dishwasher unless you want to have a badly blemished and mottled pan.. That's what happened with my Winco pan. You will hear that when this happens it doesn't affect the cooking performance but who knows. If you don't put the pan in the dishwasher, you will find this pan to be a bit heavy, but is nice and deep and flips pasta, sauces very well.

A great pasta pan, wide and deep enough to lift and toss so that every noodle is coated. Affordable and efficient.

Not the first time I've been snookered by a "Serious Eats" recommendation. They also got me on the Bartelli can opener - which is a piece of crap. The Winco aluminum stir fry pan is just that - raw aluminum - very reactive and very hard to clean - takes scrubbing with Barkeeper's Friend and a green ScotchBrite pad EVERY damned time I use it. So, I recommend against buying this pan unless you are looking for a pan that is super reactive, pits easily and is a bitch to clean. I suppose that if your working the line and can hand it off to the dishwasher, it might pass muster. In the home kitchen, not so much. After struggling to clean this POS yet again I decided to trash can it. So, I'm out $40 bucks, but life is too short to fight with a pan that I have come to hate. If I want to stir fry something, I'll use a real wok - I'm done with this piece of crap. Amazingly "Serious Eats" is still pimping it predominately on their website...

Product feature reads that it is dishwasher safe, but the technical information says it is not. I found out that it is not dishwasher safe after running it in the dishwasher once. I asked for a replacement, but the replacement came with grooved dents inside the pan, which I also returned. Not buying again. Other wise, good decent pan for tossing pasta, cools quickly (good for carbonara), but it is aluminum and can be heavier than your ordinary wok.

Works well for finishing pasta

Great heavy pan. Just used it for making carbonara. The shape makes it perfect for tossing the pasta & emolisfying. It arrived with a few minor scratches on the top lip by the handle. Doesn't effect use. Also all 3 of the rivets weren't fully knocked in. Still very sturdy just a bit naff. Would still recommend.

Came with medium chips and scratches all around the rim of the pan, overall still effective, but would've been nice if there wasn't sharp bits around the edge due to the damage/defects

Very sturdy pan in its own right, and excellent for the price. I was reminded how much I hate cleaning around rivets, but that's not a failing, just a design choice. Note that the silicone handle does not come off - or at least it's not designed to be removable. It is tolerant of high heat, though, so I don't mind.
