I have tried using refillable ink cartridges but they are just way too messy to make it worth it. I do wish ink was cheaper but since I have to have it daily for my at home business, I really don't have a choice. Since I am forced to buy ink, I may as well buy the best I can for my model printer. I mostly print out pages for my blog planner on thick card stock and also shipping labels on label paper. I haven't ever experienced any smudges even right out of the printer. These cartridges last a fairly long time and I haven't had any issues whatsoever with them. They are easy to install, a breeze to remove and I don't get a drop of ink on my fingers. I've never had a problem with them malfunctioning (now that I say that, you best believe I will come right back here and update with the quickness if I do). This pack comes with photo paper but I never use it, I've actually got stacks of it in my office. If you have to buy ink, go ahead and get the Canon brand for your Canon printer - they are designed to work together and do it very well. 4 stars because it's so expensive - would be 5 if they would just lower the price of ink!

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

Great quality and the bonus photo paper came in very handy. Used them to print some mini photocards as freebies for the bts arirang tour

I’m so glad Amazon sells this ink for my Canon printer. It always arrives fast. The quality of the ink is excellent and the final print product is very sharp. The xl cartridges usually last me up 6 months and I print a heavy volume weekly.
