Exactly what you need to keep your network up during outages
Bought this specifically to keep my router and modem running during power outages and it does the job perfectly. Living in Texas where grid reliability can be unpredictable, having a UPS on networking gear is just common sense — and this APC unit has already proven its worth multiple times. The 600VA/330W capacity is more than enough to power a typical router and modem setup, and the runtime is genuinely useful rather than just a few seconds of buffer. You get enough time to either wait out a brief flicker without your connection dropping, or ride out a longer outage and stay connected for a meaningful stretch. For anyone working from home, that continuity can save a lot of headaches. When the power went out during a recent storm, the UPS kept my network up long enough to keep my kids entertained until the power came back on (30-45 minutes later). Seven outlets is a nice bonus — 5 with full battery backup and surge protection, and 2 that are surge-only — so you can protect additional gear beyond just your networking equipment. The USB charging port is a handy extra touch. Setup is completely plug-and-play with no configuration needed. APC is a trusted name in UPS gear and the build quality reflects that. The battery is user-replaceable down the road (model APCRBC154), which extends the lifespan well beyond a disposable budget unit. For the price, the peace of mind alone makes this a no-brainer.

Reliable
I’m very happy with this product. The installation was simple, and it works exactly as expected. It has been reliable, and I noticed it runs quietly without any issues. The quality is excellent, and it gives me peace of mind knowing everything is working properly. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable solution.

Good Backup Battery that My Cat Can't Turn Off
Ordered this APC backup battery for my desktop/modem/router set up after the battery on my old backup died. I had two criteria: 1) I needed something that was small enough to fit under the back of my desk. My old one didn't, so I would kick it with my feet sometimes. 2) I also had a problem with one of my cats turning off my old backup unit. Apparently the cat liked the tone it emitted when she turned it off,. The package for this one is configured so that the on/off button is recessed, giving less chance for the cat to turn it off. If I'm ever in doubht, the green light on top tells me it is on (knock on wood - she hasn't managed to turn it off yet). The battery arrived fully charged so once I attached the connectors, I was able to hook it up right away. It has 6 AC outlets; 4 are BU and surge protected, 2 are for surge protection only, so chose which ones are connected to what equipment wisely. I do like that some of the plug ins are spaced to accomodate larger plugs. After getting it all set up, I pulled the plug to the wall outlet, and the APC battery backup took over as it should. This should give me plenty of time to save any work and let my computer shut down gracefully in case of a power outage or even power blip.

A small unit designed to protect your computer during power failures
This will save a lot of wear and tear on your computer if you live somewhere where you have frequent power disruptions, if you install it properly, and are aware of its limitations. It is a small unit and its main purpose is NOT to keep you running for extended periods of time, but rather to allow your computer to shut down gracefully if there is a sustained power outage of more than a few minutes, and to continue to function normally in the phase of brief outages and brown outs. You need to install an accompanying software onto your computer (PowerChute) and set it up so that if the power outage lasts more than a couple of minutes your computer will go through its normal shutdown. If you have your monitor and a desktop plugged in the battery will keep it running for maybe ten or fifteen minutes. I have mine set up so that if the power failure is more than three minutes, it tells my computer to go through a normal shutdown. It will first close any open files and it will prevent the power failure from causing corruption of your hard drive. It comes with a specialized cable that will connect the battery to a USB port on your computer through which it tells your computer to shut down. And it will definitely do those things very well. Don't think though that this will keep your computer running for hours or anything like that.

Reliable Backup Power That Helped Reveal a Hidden Issue
This APC backup battery has been extremely useful, not only for protecting my electronics but also for identifying a problem I did not realize I had. It kept clicking on and off, which at first I thought was a defect, but it turned out to be a voltage issue in the wall outlet. Once I fixed that, the UPS has worked flawlessly. The unit is compact, easy to set up, and provides peace of mind by keeping my computer and equipment protected during power dips and outages. It also gives enough time to safely shut things down if the power goes out completely. The build quality feels solid, and the indicator lights make it easy to monitor its status at a glance. I have tested it during short outages, and it switches over instantly without any interruption. It runs quietly, and the included outlets are spaced well for larger plugs. Overall, it is a reliable and well-built UPS that not only protects devices but can even help you spot electrical issues before they become bigger problems.

Survived a power outage.
Im using this as a power backup to my fiber-optic router. Two days after installation, a lightening storm caused a momentary power outage that normally would have required a reboot of the router, but the UPS kept it functional.

I bought this model 8 years ago
I bought this model eight years ago. It’s worked beautifully for almost all that time. For about a year, it would sound the alarm, I would reset it and it would be fine 5 months. The battery life is excellent. It finally bit the dust yesterday. It kept screaming at me and would not reset. I am replacing it with the same one since the battery was only $14 less than a brand new unit. I definitely I got my money’s worth!

great customer service
I've used APC UPS products for a number of years, and they work great. This unit ended up failing after about 18 months, likely due to a surge. I called APC support, and they indicated the serial number shows a 2021 manufacture date. (I purchased in 2025) I emailed them the receipt while on the phone, and they are shipping a replacement asap. Great customer service

Been using this for over a week and its been great. Its good for like routers or modems
The UPS is great, been using it for over a week and throughout power outages and its been nothing but good. Its not the most powerful or not the most in battery life but its certainly enough for the average joe with their router. Its even good for a small amount of mobile power despite not being made for it, i wouldn't suggest it as you can risj damage to your unit but as for me i am careful so i am fine (i am not responsible for any and all damages made to your unit(s). Any and all careless acts carried out by you is yours and your fault only.) Ease of use is great, just connect the battery, plug it in and hit the power button. Turns right on and starts working immediately, some things to note. In the event of a long term outage, i would recommend checking in on it every now and then as the default alarm doesn't sound untie the battery is quite low. I would suggest either changing it or just checking in on it after a while. Other than that its a great little UPS and i would recommend it to others. One thing id like to see added is the ability for the ups to change the power button color depending on the SOC (state of charge) would be great to see that instead of a blinking green button till it starts beeping at you.

Excelente Marca
Llegó a tiempo, perfectamente empacado y protegido. La batería desconectada lo que garantiza su estado de conservación. Batería original de la misma marca. Aún no lo pongo a trabajar, pero eso no lo pongo es duda...

Works.
So far so good. Haven't needed to ride out a power outage yet. Previous one protected my network from a small leak.
