DESKTOP Wooden Model Kit Western Salong by Young Modeler

I had fun doing this Saloon. The parts are easy to manipulate -minus the railings and the swing door. Looks good painted or left as is. I'd say for anyone doing a western theme set, definately add this. It works great with HO scenic scale models also if your using those with a train scene. All in all a great wooden model that I would recommend to any model fan. If your planning on painting this model or any other wooden models I would use enamel paint as it takes less coats than acrylics.

My husband and I are into model trains and I am always on the hunt for something new and interesting to add to our layout. This kit was rather pricey when I bought it as it was not on sale, but it fit the bill for what I was looking for so I took the chance and purchased it. It is well cut and the joints fit together tightly. (I glued it anyway to make sure that over time the building holds together well.) The wood is reasonable but not high quality. It paints well - just requires multiple coats for good coverage. The floor is not a solid piece but has a cut out in the center. It is HO scale which is perfect for our layout which is also HO. The kit is easy to customize. I so dislike the orange color of the window panes, thus I replaced them with clear acetate. I added signs (not included) to give the building that little extra something. I added the pole that supports the landing to the staircase. Assembling does require a steady hand as some of the pieces are very small. (I used tweezers.) I didn't use the glue the vendor sent as I didn't know how old the glue was. The glue I used was Woodglue/Gorilla glue. I always want to make sure my glue is fresh to give the best adhesion. I took one star off for the price, the orange window panes (I've never seen windows with orange glass), and the quality of the wood. Otherwise, it's a very good kit. I am very pleased with the final results.

This was smaller and thin, almost like cardboard. For the price, I have paid less for some that were pressed wood. This was a little disappointing at how cheap it was for the price.

I purchased this item for my elderly father who likes models. It is well made and easy to assemble.

Wood was warped and unusable. Waste of money. Comes from China so you get ripped off. I do not recommend. I want my money back

Great project for winter, a little sanding, painting, staining, gluing, and patients, the Lazer cutouts are easy to remove and assemble.
