Do I need to add my own antenna?

Depends on range to the access point it is connecting to. I have mine installed on wall socket about 10 feet away and have no transmission issues.

The launch distance on this says 20-200 meters. Is it able to transmit and receive a signal that it less than 20 meters?

yes i would think there is no reason to have a minimum distance. I think they probably mean it will work up to 20 meters for sure and it might work up to 200 under certain conditions.

Is it possible to change the frequency of both the receiver and trasmitter?

No. See the can on the transmitter, where it says 315? You would have to change to different frequency component. If you want a 433MHz, then just buy that version. The receiver might be somewhat adjustable, but no idea how much.

Do these have to be used for data? Or are these a direct 1 to 1 from signal to output? Could I use these just the wirelessly fire a relay?

“Data” is simply encoded as on or off, and checked by the receiver at specified time intervals. It can definitely be used to fire a relay, or toggle one.
