Klean Kanteen does not recommend trying to boil water over a fire with the Klean Kanteen TKWide bottles, as they are insulated and it would be difficult to achieve boiling temperatures on the inside. However, the non-insulated Brushed Stainless (no color coating) bottles may be used over an open flame with the cap removed.
