Does this fit over air tube with bioorb sculpture too over air tube?

The biOrb airstone sits in the bottom base of the filter assembly. The filter and bubble tube sit over the air stone. We hope this helps. Is this something I just drop in the hole the bubbles come out of?

Can you use this on a regular undergravel filter attachment

no. the hole to attach it is bigger than the average air pump attachment.

Why would someone need or use an air stone?

To add air to the water, it helps circulate the water and provides air for the fish. I have one in the bottom of the filter pack in my BiOrb tank, one came with the tank and I replace as needed.
