These wheels saved me! I had purchased a beautiful new desk chair for my home office. My previous chair was worn out, but the wheels on it actually still worked well and didn't scratch my floor. I was so excited to put my new one together. The minute I sat on it I realized something was wrong. The chair itself was comfortable but the wheels didn't roll well. I put a deep scratch in my hardwood floor the first time I tried to roll! I started researching under desk mats for the chair but really didn't want to do that as none of the mats work that well and don't have great ratings. Then I saw a recommendation for these wheels. The reviews were near perfect and specifically said they worked well on hardwood floors and wouldn't damage it. I figured it was worth a try. I ordered them and they came the very next day. They were far easier to install than the wheels that came with the chair - I had a more difficult time getting original wheels off than installing these. The minute I sat on it I new they were right! The chair glides very easily and absolutely no damage to my floor. They are also very quiet! A couple things to keep in mind when ordering these - they are a bit bigger than the typical wheels on a desk chair, but it just means you need to adjust the height. They aren't as pretty as the original wheels, as my original ones were gold casters. These are black with clear wheels. They look fine, just not as fancy. I can definitely live with them not looking fancy since they are not damaging my floor. Finally, you have to get used to them, as they roll so well that if you are not careful, you might roll very quickly. Just keep your feet on the ground and not on top of your desk! As other reviewers have said, they come with a hand-written thank you note which is a nice touch. I love these wheels! They saved me! I was going to have to take the new chair apart and go through the hassle of packaging it and returning it if it weren't for these wheels! Don't hesitate! Buy these!

This has been one of my favorite Amazon finds! The wheels are great, so smooth on my tile floors! I’ve had the wheels for a few months now and they are still moving the same way they moved on day one. The wheels move and turn easily in any direction, they were super easy to install and it took about 5 minutes. Loved the wheels so much I bought another set for my husband’s office chair he loves his new wheels.

Wow! These wheels are amazing! I'm a fairly big guy at almost 200 pounds, but these wheels glide across the chair mat like I weigh a lot less. I tend to move around a lot at, going from my computer desk to my main desk, and with these wheels, the movement is effortless, quiet and smooth. Going from the old wheels (which were attached to a brand new chair) to these wheels is like going from a loud and bumpy dirt road to a newly paved stretch of highway. I highly recommend these wheels to anyone who spends a lot of time in an office chair!

Are these really the best office chair wheels you can buy? Absolutely!! I would even go so far to say that in ease of movement, smoothness of glide, and unbelievably silent that these wheels are the next best thing to anti-gravity; if anti-gravity was actually available to us. I first noticed these wheels on a co-worker's chair. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed how he moved so effortlessly, and so quietly compared to the never-ending fight for dominance I was involved in with my office chair. After finally reaching my limit with that chair, I turned to my co-worker and asked him where did he buy his chair from? He told me he didn't buy a new chair just new wheels, and it made all the difference. He offered to let me try his chair out for a couple of hours. I was blown away by how much of a difference these wheels can make on an office chair. Honestly I didn't ever need 5 minutes to make up my mind, but I was loving the glide of these wheels so much that I feigned 2 hours of indecisiveness. That experience led me to buy my first set of these wheels. Now I've just bought my second set of these wheels for the chair I use at the end of the kitchen table I call my office desk. If you've made it this far in my review, stop reading and order yourself a set of these wheels! Especially if you're still rolling around on the old plastic stuff. If you're still working outside your home, you can pull out the old wheels with little effort, at most gently prying them out with a flat screwdriver. Putting these wheels in are even easier. Just make sure not to throw away your old wheels because if you leave that place of work you'll want to take these spiffy wheels with you. And keep the box to, it'll make bringing your wheels with you that much easier. If you're working at home, especially in your kitchen on a tile floor, once you put these wheels in you won't hear that chair rolling over the tile again. Not to mention how much easier on the tile these wheels are in the first place. So do yourself a favor, or as a favor for a friend and GET A SET OF THESE WHEELS!!!

Even though I have an LVP floor where my chair sits, the "normal" casters from chairs always felt a little crunchy. And I often got cords or clothes or toes (don't ask) caught in them. These skate-style wheels roll much more smoothly, quietly, and just "feel" better while rolling my chair around. I should have bought these a long time ago.

I decided to try these due to my office chair being in a carpeted room, my office mat is all cracked and broken and honestly the wheels cost less then a new good mat, and while it is not perfect it's pros definitely outweigh its cons. Lets start with the cons first since that is shorter 1) While the wheels won't damage your carpet anywhere near the degree that traditional caster wheels do you are not going to be gliding across the carpet without a mat as such your chair without a mat will be a lot more stationary then with a mat. 2) The wheels are pressed in and not screwed in so if you damage the wheels you can not replace just the wheels like you can on say roller blades, like if you where hanging pictures in your office, dropped a nail without noticing it and ended up having the nail damage the wheel you have to replace the whole unite and not just the wheel. 3) Because these wheels are effectively roller blade wheels they have minimal wheel touching the ground and as such will sink into padded carpet more easily then traditional wheels (not a big con since they won't rip it up, but it does make rolling that much harder if you sink into the padding) And that wraps up the cons, told you it was a short list, now for the pros 1) The wheels will not tear up your carpet like traditional caster wheels do, I personally would still keep the rolling to a minimum but you won't have chunks of carpet getting stuck in the wheels 2) After about a minute or so of use allowing the grease to get throughout the bearings it rolls very smoothly. 3) While I would still suggest having a floor mat for carpet, with the wheels being bigger and with more clearance then traditional caster wheels it rolls extremely smooth even on my busted up broken floor mat, the same mat my old office chairs wheels would get stuck in and end up tearing up the carpet due to the cracked mat, it rolls over nice and smooth without and issues. 4) While it doesn't feel like it is made out of the most expensive parts in the world, it does feel like the metal and wheels are at least of a good quality, not the best possible, but the best that is needed for it's purpose, like I wouldn't use these wheels to go street skating, but they are perfectly acceptable for roller rink skating which is more then enough for an office chair unless your office is outside on the street on a road. All in all, these wheels won't be some magic answer to be able to roll across shag carpet without a floor mat, but they will work great on shorter carpets you would find in say an office and still be perfectly functional for mid length carpets you would find in most homes. If you are looking for some magic cure all to not needing a floor mat on medium length carpets, this won't be some magic elixer, But if you are looking at maybe the fact your floor mat is beat up and doesn't work well with traditional wheels any more and you don't want to spend $60 on a new floor mat these wheels will work great for exactly that purpose. (Plus if you are anything like me who will eat in their office while doing work I would suggest keeping that beat up floor mat just to help keep your carpets clean from any food spills anyways) All in all if you have realistic expectations these wheel really are better designed for not ripping chunks of carpet out, they feel to be decent quality, and they work much better then traditional office chair wheels. Just don't expect to be able to roll half way across the room on your shag carpet in your bedroom, definitely more for short to medium carpets and not long carpets. The only two reasons I am giving this a 4 instead of a 5 is because A the not being able to replace just the wheels if they get damaged despite being effectively roller blade wheels on a office chair wheel mount, and also because most people ignore the 1 and 5 star reviews because they often offer less insight as to the pros and cons of the product and so the review is more likely to be read if it isn't an extreme score of max or min, if possible I would put it at a 4.5 but Amazon doesn't allow you to do half stars.
