Hotec Premium Stainless Steel Locking Kitchen Tongs with Silicon Tips, Set of 2-9" and 12" Light Green

Okay--I accidentally got my Oxo tongs too close to the gas burner and melted the end. So, I decided to try ordering these. They work great and I love that there are two sizes! I should use the shorter one when I am near the gas burner so I have better control!

These are exactly what I needed to place food in my new Ninja Foodie, turn the food while cooking, ad take the food out when done. No risk of getting burned and the tongs were not affected by 500 degrees F.

A real surprise…bought a couple of these about 3 years ago but from another supplier and they were not as colorful or better quality as these that I just purchased and I really enjoy using them. Definitely worth the purchase…good price.

The silicone ends are about as thick as you'd want them to be and their grip is good as there's no flex to the tips. Picking up individual pieces of food like broccoli or muffins is easy. And (using the medium-sized tongs) I was able to flip a decent sized steak without any issue. The locking/unlocking ring works just as it should. As for construction, it looks like the silicone tips are 'inserted' into the handles. I've included a close-up pic of where they connect. With a lot of use, the silicone tip could eventually bend off or fall out. Only time will tell. But overall, the quality of these are better than average, especially considering their low price.The sides of the tongs have color-matched silicone grips. It's helpful when holding/using them. On the smaller-sized ones, the there's less than an 1" of stainless steel exposed on the sides. But on the larger tong, there's over 3" of stainless steel exposed (pictured). Additionally, the silicone doesn't wrap around the frame of the tongs so, you still have to be careful when using these with ceramic cookware. You won't want to be resting them on the sides of your pans.So far they seem to be handling heat well. Since they're never sitting in or on the pan for any length time when I'm cooking, they should last a while. I haven't run them through the dishwasher. I usually hand wash most things only because it takes me a while to fill the dishwasher for use. I'll revisit this review as I use them more. For the price though, the quality of these was better than expected.

Great producct. They have not fell apart yet so only time will tell.Reviews should be made after 1 year of purchase. That's when reviews really matter.

I love the two sizes, and you can lock them closed so they take up less drawer space!

Just got these and I am impressed with the size and sturdiness of the products. I will write more later if I have any problems, but I do not think their will be any. All products will have normal wear and tear, but if they fall apart or start to rust after first cleaning, then I will be unhappy. I do not believe that will happen. They are a bit pricy, so hopefully they will last a long time. They are well made though and I am happy with the size of the tall one, a good length for turning items in an air fryer. Second one is a good bit smaller, but still quite sturdy and comfortable to use. To keep them closed and easily storable, pull the top, circular piece out, or hang these on a hanger in your kitchen. Great products!

I misread the description. I read "Set of 2-9" and 12"" to mean 2, 9" and and one 12" meaning 3 pieces. My mistake; however the description could be a little clearer. The rest of the order is as expected.
