Santa brought these for my 2.5 year old daughter. On Christmas morning this was not the gift she got most excited about. HOWEVER, once the craziness of Christmas was over most of her other toys were forgotten and this is by FAR her favorite toy. She plays with them every single day!! She builds castles, houses, roads, dance floors for her little princess dolls, it is never ending. They are a little expensive, but now I know they are long lasting and great for creative building....well worth the money. This is a nice big set to build many things, even so, I will be looking at additional sets to get her for her birthday.

I rarely write reviews but this toy really rates the effort. The tiles are appealing to a vast range of age groups and are absolutely indestructable. We've had ours for years and they've taken a beating - the magnets have never come loose, the plastic hasn't so much as dinged or cracked. (I wish I could say the same about my millwork, which was met with a magnatile-tossing tempest one exuberant afternoon.) They are the ONLY magnetic toy I trusted my daughter to play with when she was a baby. We have added to our collection each year and the kids never, ever get tired of them. The possibilities are almost limitless - you can do tesselations or 3-D construction. And since they're so easy to store, these will be one of the few toys we keep around after the kids grow up --to have when we entertain people with young children.

We purchased these for our 3.5 and 1 year old. The girls love the magnatile and we love how much time they spend playing with them. It's a creative quality crafted toy that encourages imagination and development. Our 3.5 year old has figured out how to build structures, create shapes and patterns while the 1 year old enjoys sticking them together and breaking them apart. They're both able to play with it simultaneously because of the number of pieces. We would recommend this set for younger children while the translucent set will be better for older kids due to it's higher tech appearance. Both sets are equally sturdy. We are planning to get another set so they can build more things together.

I had never seen this before - I just saw them on amazon a couple weeks ago and decided to purchase them. I received them yesterday and since then my daughter (3 and a half), who is just getting into building stuff, has not stopped playing with it!!! Wonderful toy - very open ended for them to use their creativity and imagination, at whatever level they are. They are also very easy to store. If she keeps playing with these the way she is, I may have to buy more for her to build more sophisticated structures. I have a younger son (9 months) who is also very interested in them, and since these are big, I can let him do that. My only complaint is that I do not understand why these have to be so expensive. If they were cheaper I would be buying these for every kid I know!!

Have previously purchased a smaller set to have in my home for when grandkids visit. Nice set, just not enough tiles so sprung for this larger, more varied set. All ages can have fun with this building block toy, and the magnetized action allows even the littlest hands to build a stable construction. Highly recommend this well made toy. My daughter brought their big set along on summer vacation, and it was seldom in the box ---- everybody played with it. Admittedly this is a pricey item, but is sturdy and as long as you retrieve all pieces, should provide fun for years. Our grandkids range in age from 16, 13, 7, 6, 3, and they all played with each other, singly and with grandparents. Tons of funs.

I got in trouble with my husband for buying such an expensive toy but now that we see how much our kids play with it, we are looking into expanding our collection. My kids are 2 and 4 and, I'm not kidding you, spend 4-8 HOURS a day playing with these magna tiles. We've had them for about 5 months and they play with them every single day. They are great for travel. We take them on planes and car rides because they will keep them happy for so long. They are BY FAR the BEST toy my kids have ever played with. Portable, easy to clean up, educational, versatile, and are adaptable to their ages and interests. LOVE them! Cons: Although the magnets are pretty strong (better than any of the imitators), it would be nice if they were a little stronger They are not indistructable. 5 months of rough play from 2 wild little boys have left a few tiny nicks and scratches. But they crash into them and walk on them. But none of them have broken Because they are pricey, I am paranoid to lose any. Magna-tiles only has like 5 basic shapes. It does limit what you are able to do with them. You can buy accessories, like cars, etc in other brands. I'd prefer to buy from Magna-tiles but can't find much selection. Over all, GREAT product!

My son and daughter love these! You can build so many different things with Magna Tiles, and your kids really get to use their imaginations and creativity. The tiles themselves are very durable, and look nicer than they do in the above picture. Somehow the picture makes them look cheap, but they look nicer in person. We bought this pack for $100, and I hope several years down the road I will be able to say it was worth it-but it has only be four months, so I am not sure yet. I wish they were a little cheapter, but overall they are a great toy, they don't need batteries, and they don't play obnoxious songs:-)

My son's godmother bought him a set of 32 Magna-Tiles for his 2nd birthday. As he opened the box, she told me that her 5-year-old son "Rarely gets a bad report from school, but when he does, it ALWAYS has something to do with Magna-Tiles." Now I understand why. Why would anyone want to share such an amazing toy? They're fun, they're easy to build with, and the creative possibilities are endless. Amazingly, they attract from every side and fit together seamlessly. No frustration = tons of fun. My son is now approaching his 3rd birthday and this is the one toy that he continually goes back to. I just purchased the 100-piece set for his birthday, and I know he's going to be thrilled. I also know that his playmates (including my 33-year-old brother) will be happy that there are now more than enough Magna-Tiles to go around. Buy this toy for your child! The price may seem high, but they will provide years of entertainment.

My kids all love this - fun for all ages

These are amazing and this is our second purchase! They keep the kids occupied for hours, and they never get tired of them! Even my 1.5yr old is into it, who is too young for these magnatiles as per the recommended age! But hey, if he can play and create, why not. We got our first box of magnatiles 2 years ago, and kids still play with it every morning, while we get extra sleep!

A friend recommended these. I was sceptical. They are very expensive. I bought them for our two year olds birthday. However his older siblings ( girls and boys) up to age 9 all love them. After 9 months of being played with nearly every other day, not a single one is cracked and the magnets are still powerful. I am about to order more for their joint Christmas present. I know they will be played with.
