Is this lamp easy to operate?

Easy to operate= yes. However, if using the weighted base, instead of the clamp, you cannot extend the light very far as the base is not stable (or the light is too heavy) and the light falls over.

Does the lamp give off heat? If working under it will it cause your hands to become too hot?

I have mine on right now. It's been on for 3 or 4 hours. I just now put my hand within 1/8" of the diodes themselves and I could barely feel any heat.

Does this have a light bulb thatburns out and needs changed periodically? If so, where are they available and how much do they cost?

I’ve not had to change the bulb. I assumed being LED is should last a while. Be careful to read reviews. The magnifying glass/light is very difficult to attach and the weighted base is not heavy enough. If you extend the light more than about half way past the length of the arm, it will fall over.

When we stretch our necks, is the base heavy enough not to tip over?
