KEENMen's Targhee 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots

Disappointed
Absolutely nowhere near as good as the Targhee-II not as comfortable and not as waterproof either despite looking after them, these boots have been made much cheaper I think and have put me off Keen footwear after 4 years of wearing the Targhee-II's

Not good for long wet grass
Product fit is fine and they are comfortable, they kept my feet dry through shallow water, but after 2 miles of walking through long wet grass, they leaked through the tongue.

So comfy. So hard wearing. A unique boot you just have to try before buying anything else.
I have slightly shorter, wider feet than normal and so buying shoes, especially ones that need to fit very naturally, can be difficult. I always end up having to buy sizes that are too big and so I have a lot of space left at the toe and which can cause pain. Keen Targhees are a little wider than most boots I have tried and they just fit me like a glove. After a few days of wear the material really does shape to form, when I slip them on they feel like they're moulded to my feet with just the right give in them. So comfortable and hard wearing.I have owned my Keen Targhees for nearly 10 years, I caught them on sale when I was rather poor but just had to have them as they were so nice. They have done much of the Coast to Coast walk with me, up and over the Peak District more times than I care to mention and are treated like a work boot whenever I need to do some smithing or hauling around. They have recently started to wear to the point of not being as water tight as they once were but have more than served their purpose and money's worth. Perhaps if I hadn't spent so much time on concrete/asphalt with them they may have lasted considerably longer. Even when I retire these ones I will keep them for non-hiking/wet duty. I'm willing to bet they will go another 10 years+ on that job. Will be buying my new pair when I next head out to the Lake District.

Laces
I found these cheaper at Go Outdoor. My size there was for £85, quick check on amazon (£205 WHAT), haggled Go Outdoor down to £75 as it was their last pair. Great shoes for £75 however, the laces keep undoing. I expected much more from Keen. I have out double knot so lets see over time how that works out but undone laces is sign of cost cutting. I will never buy a Keen if thats the case at anywhere near full price.
