Does this make a noise when the beam is broken ?

No. You must use a relay to power a siren or strobe. All the beam sensors operate this way. You have open or closed contacts. I use 4 of these sensors connected to a niles ipc6 intelligent power controller to turn on an electric fence, a 135 db siren, strobe lights, a laser show and multiple light beams. All trigger on in a programmed on and off sequence when the beam is tripped.
