3000mAh Large Capacity Hand Crank Solar Camping Lantern for Emergency

Lets face it, everyone of some reasonable years & maturity, has had more than their fill of power failures. Me especially since I live on a mountain top farm & as far from the nearest power station as I am removed from civilization. That being said, because I am living on the edge of the wilderness in a rural community with my nearest neighbor living about half a mile from my front door & my mailbox is about two thirds of a mile away, you can imagine what its like having all those miles of line traveling up the mountainside far from the roads in some of the worst hard-to-reach places. Mind you, I've been meaning to add solar & wind with a ton of power storage batteries but I still haven't saved up the amount of money required to pull the trigger on such big project. So, for now, until that time, I have to settle for these wonderful little battery powered lanterns with the hand-crank on the bottom & the USB charger port so if I am feeling a little lazy, instead of cranking the handle, I could simply plug them into an outlet to charge them when I still have the power running to my house. As for the solar panel on the top, I have never tried to actually use it but the irony of that little panel is as I believe to still be of some use. You see, I have them all placed in various areas that are important to me. One example is the bathroom where I have one standing upright on the top of a shelf. So, whenever I or my house mate use the bathroom & we turn on the light, that little panel on top will slowly charge the battery & you can just imagine how often that the bathroom light is turned on since we don't have any windows in the bathroom to let light in. So, in a indirect way, while the bathroom light doesn't really charge up on of these units, it does slow the power loss of the battery which is nice but it still has to be occasionally hand cranked & sometimes it can take a while before the indicator light changes from red to green. But for me, that's okay... Mind you, at first, I had bought two of these a while ago & they so handily came to the rescue at night every time when the power went on the blink. I was actually so impressed with the performance of these lanterns that I felt that two weren't enough to light the way into the kitchen or the bathroom. So, I recently bought two more & I might even buy another two later on if I feel the need because these lanterns are very bright & if spread throughout my living space, when the power goes out, I won't end up sitting in the dark. Basically, to me, these are a crucial item to have in a blackout because the hand crank can keep these units powered up as long as a person is willing to sit there cranking for certain amount of time just to make sure that they won't have to do it for a while just to keep from sitting in the dark. So, yes, you me, they are worth the price per unit because of how well that they work.

What a neat lantern! I love that with just a few cranks of the handle, we have bright light, love the solar screen. plus it can function as a simple flashlight. Very versatile, and perfect for power outages that seem to come more often these days. I am glad we got it!

Good lantern, should work well. Bought this for my bug out bag. It has all the features I was looking for. Priced about right. Hopefully I'll never use it, but I charged it, and continue to maintain it. It's not super bright, but it will light up a small room, or camper pretty well. Just don't expect 1000 watts for a small lantern, and you'll be satisfied too. It can self charge, but I plan on using it to recharge my cell phone if needed if SHTF. For the price, it's a no brainer.

Easy to use and keep charged it just sits in my window until needed and was needed recently when we had a close encounter with a tornado and the power was knocked out.. In fact his particular purchase (I've bought two so far) was for an elderly neighbor who had nothing but a couple candles and some matches, the problem is that they are hard to find in pitch dark had my original for several years and works perfectly, also worth mentioning it's quite lightweight and is an excellent camping tent light

What are not efficient, will not light up a very bright area as large to take on any type of camping trip even though it has a solar charger that I don’t even know if it works because I’ve never used the light because I have better ones. Company contacted me and said if I was not completely satisfied, even passed the 30 day return window, they would provide shipping and full refund. I have to give them an A+ on customer service, which is hard to find these days. Left light on all night full power, and it was still running this am. It does have advantages at least has a chance forsolar. (although it’s hard to tell how well it works because there is no indicator as to how much it has charged. But, and a real emergency, like the hand crank that most lights do not have that will provide light in a true emergency situation. Was harsh on the first review, and after using it, would actually recommend to friends. Also, like the fact that it has a small beam light on the bottom, which would provide a good trail light without lighting up the woods. And the fact that it is Also rechargeable C to C connector gives it several options to make sure you will have light no matter what when you need it. It just seemed flimsy when I opened it, but it’s collapsible to protect plastic shield around bulbs. Is lightweight and will be in my bug out/camp bag. Three different ways to charge is a bonus. Props on actually caring about customer service and features that make this more attractive than first realized.

Nice that you can charge it in so many ways which of course you already know by the product title/description. What I can add is it doesn't take many cranks to get some light out of it. It was dead out of the box and I cranked it for probably less than a min and I got some light after doing so. But according to the instructions you would need to crank it for 10 mins and you get 20 - 30 mins for the main light and 20 - 25 mins for the flashlight. I find this odd since the flashlight is bright; but the main light is brighter, go figure. The longest use time you will get is to plug it up and charge it which is not surprising where you get > 35 hrs and > 30 hrs respectively. 30 mins of solar charge gets you the same run time as cranking it for 10 mins. I bought the green and like the way the light will show through the sides if you push the lid down but not all the way so the light stays on. This is the only way to put out less light by pushing the top down; however the entire light still shines. You can turn on the flashlight and stand it on the solar panel; but not sure why you would want to do this since the main light produces light for a longer period of time. Can also turn on the flashlight while the main light is being used. Overall this is a great lantern that gives you multiple ways to charge it as well as use it. Would buy again.

Nice little lamp, for it's size it is bright. Hand crank handle is a bit small someone with large hands would gave issues using it.

Great for camping, especially with kids. It's quite versatile and durable. It does exactly what it says it does, light up an area and charge phones. This is a great choice for camping and hiking. It's bright and the batteries last a long time, even when used for a few hours. The solar charger helps to slow the drain, and can help supplement the power, although the hand-crank will recharge the battery faster.
