Buy this one!
We’ve done a few different brands of “digs” for rocks/fossils/plastic dinos- and this one is hands down the BEST ONE. It gets a bit messy, so I’d recommend doing this outside. The medium used was perfect for my 4 and 6 year olds to work through in a few hours.Exact words from the 6 year old: “Very, very, very, very fun. Tell people to buy it!”

My little archeologist loved it
My kid loves science and dinosaurs. This was the perfect gift. Especially since we also homeschooling. We incorporated into a whole lesson. We had a blast digging.

It's one and done
My kids really enjoyed playing archeologist for a bit with this set, but there's no continuity. It would make sense to add a discounted subscription, like a snack crate for dead things, to generate a sense of ongoing excitement for this. Fun while it lasted but it didn't last.

Tremendous quality and great experience!
This kit was fun, extremely exciting quality and very educational. Our children loved the kit and were amazed at how much they got in one set along side the collectible scientific fact cards. It was like a field trip back in time!

Great!
Our 7-year-old granddaughter is having fun with this, spending well over an hour chipping away and trying to identify what she found. The identification cards are helping me learn more as well.

Fun for parent and little one
I would have loved to have gotten a kit like this as a kid! My almost four year old absolutely had a blast working on this. We haven't finished since she is very cautious in handling the fossils. The coprolite is by far the most entertaining fossil with the shark teeth the most fun to find. The price point is great and makes it an excellent gift. The only downsides are that you can kick up some dust and I would imagine that an 8 year old might finish this relatively quickly. I will probably end up buying another to give as a gift.
