The pump arrived a day before it was estimated, one of the reasons I increasingly go to Amazon for various.... The pump is small - I have not installed it yet. I did check it out briefly, and it runs well, pumps a torrent and is heavy for its' size. All good indicators of quality. I am hoping as plastic, it'll hold up well, but you're not going to get a bronze pump for this price. I purchased it to circulate water for our rabbits and to reduce the risk of freezing. It looks like it'll do that just fine. I also like the fact that I can run it off of a battery or from 110 - so I can use the solar power I already have in place and not have to run "real" electricity out to the rabbit barn. A good value for the price - lots of different applications and very handy with 1/2 pipe or barb fittings.

I have a 55 gallon rain barrel that I put a small heater inside so that the water doesn't freeze in the winter. I've attached a washing machine hose from the barrel into a 1" pvc pipe that has nipples on them that my chickens drink from. The problem is on cold days, even with the heater in the barrel, the water in the 1" pvc pipe would freeze. This pump ensures that doesn't happen. I have it plugged into a temperature sensitive outlet. I have it set to turn on at 37F and turn off at 41F. It's constantly pulling the warm water in the barrel into the pipe and back into the barrel to be heated again. We've so far gone down as low as 9F with no issues. Now this is just the first year. Will it still work flawlessly 10 years from now? Let's see.

Using this to pump my kombucha through an 80 mesh filter before bottling. Pump does not self prime, that's where that last star went. I'm using silicone tubing and it collapses from the suction, recommend a more rigid tubing. Pump is loud when priming it and when it runs dry, but quiet once liquid is flowing. If mounting this in a camper I'd recommend rubber bushings or some other kind of isolated mounting.

So far it is doing what I needed. As for durability, time will tell. It runs very quite and circulates very well. I am concerned about reviews that the 110v to 12v power source failed and that the pump came apart at the joint. Will be monitoring closely.

I purchased this pump in December 2025 to circulate warm water to keep my chickens' water supply from freezing in the mild winters we get in the Southeastern US. The pump was on a thermo switch and ran only when temperatures fell below 35°F / 1°C, so it may have had ~400 hours of operation, and it's already dead. The plastic impeller has the motor's rotor wrapped around the drive shaft. Unfortunately, it's a friction fit (at best), and over time, the rotor works loose from the impeller shaft. The impeller is held in place by two small pins at either end of the shaft, which sit in plastic cups. Over time, the friction of the plastic on plastic becomes higher than the friction of the plastic to the rotor, and suddenly, you'll get just the rotor spinning around the impeller shaft. When that happens, the pump transforms into a heating element, and the casing temperature rises well above the boiling point of water (212°F/100°C). My pump got so hot when it failed that it burned my fingers to touch it, and water flashed to steam when poured onto the housing. So, it may even present a fire hazard.

Great little pump - I have a couple in use currently for hot water circulators. I run a line from the furthest hot tap in the house back through this pump, then a check valve, then into the bottom of my hot water tank. A timer runs the pump for a minute or two every 20-30 minutes to keep the water in the line hot, resulting in nearly instant hot water at the taps. They have been running like this, circulating hot water every 20 minutes or so for several years now without a hiccup. Would not hesitate to use again.

This is an awesome little pump! Don't let the 12 volts, and small size fool you. The 1/2--inch NPT male threads make this really versatile because Fittings are readily available at most hardware stores. It comes with brass Fittings, O-rings, Teflon tape. And stainless steel hose clamps. Directions are simple. Since it's 12 volt DC, this would be a great circulation pump for a live well in a fishing boat. My purpose is for a circulation pump on a fluidized bed bioreactor, for my aquariums.. I need additional flow to move the media further up the reactor, and. Create more turbulence. The pump is also submersible. The unit is sealed. The impeller design is really good. It's not the standard straight blade design, but curved. No doubt why its so powerful. I will definitely be purchasing several more.

We purchased exactly 2 years ago and it has quit on us. I use it for our chicken waterer and it usually only runs in winter time with a temp sensor or when I plug it in on occasion to circulate their water, so I hoped it would’ve lasted longer.
