Short Review: It works but this should cost $30-$40 because of how cheap it feels.Long Review:There's no way this lasts very long. It's made of 100% thin and cheap plastic. One little bump with my hitch when installing and I'll be pissed because it'll shatter it. Don't over tighten when installing or it'll flex and eventually break but because of how lose it fits you feel like tightening more and more.Flip up lid is just hanging out all the time and closes very loosely....haven't had it long enough but no way it'll stay clipped in....I can't stress this enough....cheap plastic EVERYTHING. lid, hinges, cap, surround, latch.Install instructions are a JOKE!!!!! You have to go online, search for a YouTube video and keep pausing and putting your phone down to do the next step. It wasn't that difficult but nowhere near plug and go. First screw all the plastic stuff together over your receiver. 2. feed wires up to your tailgate. 3. Unscrew tailgate bed cover(torx). 4. Unbolt both inner and outer tailgate latches. 5. feed wires through tailgate and plug into inner latches.I'm fine with all these problems IF the price reflected what I got....and it is far from it. For $100+ I'd expect some kind of aluminum housing and better design on the lid/latch/magnetic switch.

This was the first accessory my husband purchased for his 2021 Chevy Silverado. It protects you from accidentally denting the new Flex/Multi function tail gate. Once installed, it will not let the tailgate open in the flex position until the hitch/ball is removed and the opening cover is closed. Definitely with the money to protect the tailgate from an expensive repair if it were to accidentally hit the hitch with the ball attached! My husband easily installed it without any problems, but if you are not mechanically inclined you might want to have a professional install it. Again, a must buy item for the new flex tailgates!

I installed it on a 2021 GMC Sierra. The item would not seat correctly around the factory receiver tube on the truck. The tube is not completely square so when I tightened down the screws on the Curt product it separated not allowing the door to latch closed when the receiver is not attached. Looks like a good concept, but only if you have a completely square receiver. Sent it back.

I recently installed the Curt Multipro Protection Switch. It was real easy to install? took me about 30 minutes and Curt has an excellent brief install video on YouTube. The only thing I find I do not like about is I like to use my half gate alot when I have my camper attached because there isn't enough room to drop the full gate and not it will not let be do that. So we will see if I keep it on! If it didn't do that it would be a full 5 stars.

This lockout device prevents the smaller, inner tailgate from opening and being damaged when a hitch is installed. Easy installation, plug and play wiring harness, no cut or splicing. Better price than the deductible on repairing a damaged tailgate! Works perfectly.

Easy to follow instructions, Easy to do in less than 30 minutes if you have all your tools in one place. Works like a champ! Now I'm not afraid a family member will accidentally open the top gate and crunch it on my pintle hook.

Looked a different options to make sure my new tailgate stays pristine. This is the option I settled on. The install was super easy and it worked as designed! Not sure how the type of plastic it uses will hold up over time but after a month installed it still works great.

Arrived quickly and although I had to remove the tailgate panel, it was pretty easy to install. No mor worry about damaging the tailgate when towing.

Très déçu de ce produit. Plastic de piètre qualité et impossible de fermer le couvercle peu importe la manière donc je l’ajuste(je suis mécanicien depuis 47 ans). Va se briser au moindre coup. Je ne le recommande vraiment pas. Curt pourtant ont normalement des articles de bonne qualités.

Putted on my 2021 3500 Denali and it do preventing the inner gate hit the towing hitch.
