๐ฉ A small army of useful metal, ready for duty
I bought this assorted pack of Harlington M3.5 screws during one of those heroic household moments when you decide to mend something instead of simply leaning it against a wall and hoping it rights itself through spiritual growth. In my case, it was a shelf that had begun to tilt at an angle reminiscent of a drunken poet. Opening the pack felt oddly triumphant. Forty little soldiers, all lined up in mixed lengths from 35mm to 75mm, like a choir of metallic monks humming โWe can fix that.โ No unnecessary fanfare, just straightforward engineering competence. If only politicians worked this way. The variety of sizes is actually rather inspiring. You start looking round the room thinking โWhat else needs screwing?โ and suddenly youโre a one-person maintenance brigade, tightening everything from cupboard hinges to that wobbly coat hook thatโs been holding on by sheer optimism. These screws do not bend, panic, or shed their threads like some of the cheaper varieties that behave as if tightening them is an unbearable emotional burden. They bite into wood with the confidence of a beaver whoโs read a trade manual. They sit flush without drama. They do not strip easily even when handled by my nephew Keith, who uses a screwdriver with the delicacy of a butcher juggling cutlery. No frills, no nonsense, no sudden snapping. Just solid, honest metal companions ready for whatever your domestic chaos throws at them. They will not cure fascism, but they might prevent your bookcase from collapsing under the weight of books explaining why fascism is silly. Five stars. I now have a sturdier home, a straighter shelf, and a new sense of competence that is probably entirely unwarranted. Highly recommended.

They fit. Do the job.
Maybe not quite as shiny as the MK originals, but a good selection of overlength screws for a good price.

Any Lengths
Our youngest somehow bought a house in lockdown and moved in some months ago. She asked us if we fancied a little tiling in her new kitchen and me and mrs Duncurin, armed with a new Bosch blade for the Victrex wet cutter as previously reviewed, got stuck in. The 'plain' section above her sink went really well but the sockets were a great cause for concern. Of course, they all needed to be unscrewed with the power turned off and then we had to tile as best we could behind them. As an added complication she was keen to replace the white sockets with chromed ones. Even worse was what I think is called a grid switch. Our daughter had purchased a new chrome cover for this but the main gubbins was left a long way recessed when the tiling was done. More importantly, when re-attaching the chromed switches sockets and covers the retaining screws would no longer fit into the back boxes. The other point is that you don't know what length you'll need until the sockets are hanging off the wall. This nice little set solves all these problems. Of course they replace the 3.5BA bolts for the sockets and switch covers and you can, as there is a selection of lengths, experiment with the length you'll need while the power is still off and then hopefully screw them home. Even the grid switch was sorted. I had to detach the switch assembly from the back box, bring the whole thing forward using spacers behind it, screw it back and then finally screw in the chrome cover plate. Please see a photo which of course barely shows the new 3.5BA bolts from this set that we used but I can assure you that the whole set was essential for us to finish the project and not leave live plugs and sockets hanging from the wall while we purchased the lengths we needed. Happy days.

A very useful selection of M3.5 screws
Although it was a little OTT for my requirements, the various lengths of screws allowed me to set up an assembly and then change the srew length to that required for the job. Without these screws, I'd have been in difficulty to achieve my goal. One thing I ould criticise is that it would be nice if the screw tips had a blind lead-in, rather than starting with a threaded tip. That would allow the screw tips to be located into the screw sockets prior to threading them in. In my case, it didn't really matter and I've boxed the remainder of the screws as they may well help in future projects that are less than a gleam in my eye at present. So useful to have handy.
