As nice as it looks.
Very nice for the price. It can be a little tricky to use at times. But not more than any older compass. If this is the style compass you're looking for, I recommend this one. I was pleased with my purchase.

This compass does not even do the most basic function. Just looks good. Please do not buy

"Best birthday present ever!" - 7 year old
My nephew had been wanting a real compass for his "entire life" and was super excited to get this for his 7th birthday. His exact words were "best birthday present ever!" There is some weight to it and it seems quite sturdy. It takes it a moment to find the correct direction when spun around quickly, but give it a second and north points north. The push button to open the compass was a definite improvement over other kid compasses and gives it more of a fancy "real" look. I'd buy it again just to see the look on his face when he opened it. Total win!
