I bought this version after a buddy introduced me to the original railways of the world. This is a FANTASTIC game no matter what map you're playing on. Since I never play at high player counts like 5-6 (I rarely even play at 4) I don't need all the extra stuff from the base game. This standalone box seats 4 and the map is tight and can get very aggressive. Overall If you like train games, and/or you're thinking about getting in to this particular series. I would NOT recommend the base game or its 10th anniversary edition. Start with Nippon. Its got everything you want, but will take up less than HALF (Literally) of the space on your game shelf.
