JENOLITE Brake Caliper Spray Paint Red 500ml Aerosol

Superb quality paint and goes on really well Refurbished all 4 brake calipers on my BMW 6 series. After a full wire brushing and cleaned off with brake cleaner, 2 dust coats and one final coat has them looking superb. A quick pass with Jelonite's lacquer too Would highly recommend

I used this spray in conjunction with the same brand white primer. The primer was quite watery. This spray is ok to used but if you spray to close it does leave water drops. Probably just my technique. So I primed 2 coats and yellow top coat x3. 2 cans of each primer and top coat was more than enough to cover all four calipers. I would have liked the paint to be harder once completely dry as I have knocked the caliper since and it has chipped, hence 4 stars. The colour was spot on though!

Works well to paint calipers. Make sure you use LIGHT spray coats and reapply every 20-30 minutes to get an even coat. Ideally you want a fan blowing a light room temp breeze over the calipers to help with solvent off-gassing. If you don't use light coats, you'll end up with a tacky/sticky finish and it will take days to dry and cure. Once fully painted, leave the calipers hanging with a fan pointed at them for a few days for the paint to fully harden. Preparation is also key. Fully clean your surfaces with brake cleaner and a rag, and ideally scuff the surface with sandpaper before you apply coats. You don't need a clearcoat lacquer on top of this as the paint dries to a glossy finish. As long as you use light repeated coats, you can paint a set of 2 calipers and brackets fully with 1 can of paint.

Very disappointed with this caliper paint. The can clearly says red, but when sprayed it comes out more orange than red. The finish might be okay, but the colour is completely different from what was advertised. If you’re looking for a true bright red caliper paint, this isn’t it. I wouldn’t buy it again.
