Does this lid have a gasket in it to make an air tight seal?

Gasket, yes; air tight, I doubt it. The lid is flexible and the seal is decent, but not very strong. A soft spongy material.

will this fit any 5 gallon plastic paint bucket?

It will fit. I bought two to put on 5 gallon bucket feeders because squirrels chewed into plastic lids. They tight to clasp but work.

Nice and sturdy

Needed a sturdy clamp on lid for a 5 gal bucket dust collection system. This one worked well for the task.

Clasps are right to close but fit and work

I bought these to replace plastic lids on 5 gallon deer feeders. Squirrels were chewing through the plastic ones. These have proven to be a good solution.

Makes a bucket animal proof

It’s a bit expensive for what it is but if you have problems with animals getting into your buckets because they want the food that’s inside this is the perfect option. I had raccoons getting in some dog food and after putting it on they could never opened it up again.
