Rigid and well built
Easy assembly can be done with one person. Would help to have nut driver, but ratchet worked just fine. I recommend to seal all side and bottom seams to prevent moisture and insects. Top lid leaves very little room for foam tape, but a thin 1/2” strip would work fine. (Optional) Overall it is very sturdy and lid is rigid. Good deal, good product

Excellent Product
I've had these for three years now and it is still doing well. It's a thick, durable plastic material. It took me about 30 minutes to put together because it was just me. The instructions were easy to follow and came together nicely with no issues. The lid opens and closes easily and keeps water out. I put a lock on mine because it does stay outside on my deck year round. The lid has faded a little over the years because it has been out in the sun but the whole deck box is easy to clean. Very pleased with it.

Great Deck Box - Takes a lot of time to assemble, missing screw holes
This is a great sturdy deck box and it stores a lot of seat cushions (we can store all of our 14 cushions of various sizes in the box) for our outdoor furniture, which is what we use it for. It did take about 2 1/2 hours to assemble when it should have taken approximately 45 minutes to do so. The back and front panels took excessive force with a rubber mallet (and two people involved) to push them into the locking positions on the base (it takes a lot more force than the Lifetime YouTube video which shows it done with a couple shoves of the foot - we found it took more forceful, careful pounding with a rubber mallet; but be careful not to damage the locking slots on the base for the front and back panels). There are a number of screw holes missing from the roto molding process by the factory, so be prepared to have and use a socket wrench set, ratchet screwdriver, and cordless drill with socket/phillips/slot screw attachments to create the holes in the four sides, so it can be assembled with the provided screws. The gas cylinders for the hinge assemblies are a nice touch, but we could not get these on tight, so they do work fine but we had to be satisfied with them attached to the bracket somewhat loosely. We like the deck box, it’s sturdy and should last and keep moisture out, just wish the Chinese factory that Lifetime uses had made real “lined up” holes for the screws to go into. I think if this were made in a USA roto mold factory, it likely would have had the holes for the screws. This is yet another example of the Chinese production process making assembly unnecessarily difficult for Americans and the rest of the world.

TOP QUALITY
'Heavy Duty & Built To Last.' Purchased for the storage and use of car wash items. One of the best items I have ever purchased, sure beats unlocking the garage and carrying this/that/everything piecemeal and time consuming every time my daughter wanted to wash the car; even holds the vacuum and extension cord. Really appreciate the one piece lid and dual gas-rams to hold the lid open too. Expertly packed with reinforcement for rough shipping, easy instruction/assembly with a phillip head screwdriver, small wrench, ratchet and socket in about an hours time reading the instructions twice and double checking every step. I'd originally planned to build my own design out of wood but never got around (3+ years) to doing so and glad I didn't; I'd have spent at least double in materials, likely days building, hardware, painting etc., plus heavy, needing maintenance and eventually painting in the future. This one is a beauty, sturdy, light enough to move, watertight, and maintenance-free. Happier than a seagull with a slice of pepperoni pizza! A1, A+, 10/10, 5 stars and would highly recommend to others!

Best solution - sun and rain - but...
Check out the photo. I placed this box in direct sun light part of the day, hot close to equator climate year round, and prone to heavy rains. Water getting into yours? - The first thing you want to do is make sure the ground is raised. See how I put a 6 inch cement platform? That's similar to per code in most cities. You want to do this for your box for two reasons. 1) The cement is even. So the plastic isnt going to warp out causing large gaps on base 2) If your area has flooding, even if half a inch, and there is a gap you are going to get water in the box This box is not to just drop on the grass somewhere behind your yard. If you actually do that anyway then silicone the base inside and out to give yourself a fighting chance. Placing it on a flat service that doesnt flood is the key. - The direct sun is no problem. What I did was purchase a bottle of UV protection spray here on amazon and put it on the areas that gets sun. I do this once every few months and keep it in the bin and use it when I remember to. Still looks brand new. I searched through each and every deckbox/ storage shed on Amazon. I was originally steered away from this product because it is so inexpensive. I wanted to pay more for the best possible solution. After receiving it I couldnt be more happy. Assembly: - Make sure when sliding the side together you are doing it correctly. Its easy, but put some muscle in it to create a locked in fit. - You should use a socket attachment. Whether its a socket wrench, a socket attachment to your screw driver, or to your drill... just go to the hardware store and pick one up for a couple bucks. Its worth it and I can promise you many of the disgruntled assembly reviews must come from someone who tried to use a screw driver. -Your lid is closing unevenly? - You didnt assemble it incorrectly. Just make sure the box is on an even surface. I believed my lid was on an even surface but when noticing the lid not closing perfectly (slightly to the left) I placed it on what I knew to be for sure an even surface it the lid closed perfectly. Recommendations: - Silicone caulking has been recommended by others but I havent needed to since I raised mine on flat surface. - A UV protectant spray. - A socket attachment for assembly *Important note: It is more difficult to assemble than something like an Ikea furniture set. It will take someone handy just minutes to do it but if you are not handy assembling this deckbox might slightly irritate you. If you need a deck box get this one.
