Looks like Steam punk or WW1
Works great. Doesnโt leak. Has a solid, well made feel. I use the Zippo lighter fluid. Really cool look. I gave one to my son and one to my son in law.

It's a pleasure to own, and an eye opener to share a light with.
I have had this lighter for several months now. I wanted to wait before I submitted a review. I will admit I was really thrown off by the design. I could see guys using parts to build less fancy versions of this on the battlefield. A rifle casing here, a spring there and really, that's about done. This one is a show off compared to those older versions. The brass was bright and shiny, the movement was fluid, and it was fluid tight. I carry this in my pocket with my keys ( which carries the fuel tank; but more on that in a second ) so it gets knocked around by sharp obgects and odd angles. It has never been a problem. I was concerned the hardware would get caught too often, but this thing is a comfort to carry and has never tangled in the keys. I wish I would have rubbed it with a strong varnish or paint remover to help it grab a patina faster but then sometimes the best this are best aged... Now that the coating is worn down it's starting to show a good age in most high traffic spots giving it a great old world look, like it was from another era. And honestly, EVEN if i didn't smoke, I'd buy one of these after seeing it. When someone asks if you have a light and this mini magic show happens before theire eyes... well, they light up almost as bright as their cigarette. I would say I'd buy this again, but honestly, I don't know that my favorite grand kid will have to buy one when they get old enough. And prolly not their grandkid. Unless you abuse this there's not a lot that can break down from normal use. If you purchase one, I hope you have as enjoyable experience as I have.

It Works Right Out of the Box
Well constructed, quality materials. Comes with a separate little cannister you can fill with lighter fluid. The wheel and flint spark well. The wick is not the best quality, but it has not become an issue. When you go to fill it, it will leak / spill, so have something absorbent underneath. Doesn't hold a lot of fuel, but honestly... it lights the first time every time and that has to count for something. Comes with some spare gaskets and flints.

On for the trenches.
Very solid reproduction of a classic design. Easily ignites, small, protable. Have had no issues with it leaking. Filling it is a little more difficult, as with other lighters.

cool, but flawed
love the design (mostly.) as an engineer i have some notes. biggest problem is the guide/tension rod. it tends to get stuck under the outer casing preventing the lighter from opening and more problematically closing. second issue is the rod is anchored through a hole in the inner casing allowing fluid and vapors to escape. replace the rod with a t-bar and an external guide shaft and you have a fully enclosed inner casing plus the square shape of the bar will drastically minimize the chances of it slipping out of place. feel free to shower me with cash and free lighters at you earliest convenience.

I had a lighter similar to this many, many years ago. I don't remember what happened to it but I do remember it did not work as smoothly as this one. Not even close. Also I had to strike the flint at least two or three times to get it to light. This one lights up effortlessly on the first spin like it wants to be on fire. You can feel the quality in it's operation. My EDC is a Zippo of course and I love it. It goes where I go. However, when I'm at home I have a few different lighters strategically placed around my house as the Zippo has a reserved spot near the front door next to my keys. Yes, I do enjoy a good smoke and I never want to waste time hunting for a light so where ever I spend any amount of time in my house or garage, a lighter is handy and always fueled. Not just for smoking but whatever I need a flame for. Candles, lanterns, that irritating frayed rope or the fireplace in the living room which is where this lighter has become a trusted fixture. When relaxing in the evening it's good to know that no matter what kind of day I had, I know it will be no problem when I want to light one up or hear the crackle of a fire because this lighter will be within arms reach and can be relied on. I recommend to anyone that purchasing this lighter leaves no regret. I've also been considering purchasing another to keep in my truck for that unexpected emergency. I should also mention the fuel bottle that comes with it. It's the perfect compliment to this lighter. It looks good on the end table with the lighter. Keeping a large tin can of lighter fuel there would be an eye sore. That's all I guess. The last thing to say is, go get one. You won't regret it.

very nice edc lighter that i keep on my keys. personally i feel like the fuel in it does last longer then in a zippo but it will still evaporate. I'm giving this a 4 star solely for the fact that i had to buy a pack of flints for it cause the one i received didnt come with one
