Thank you for the LGBTQA+ Characters
Seriously unpredictable plot twist at end. I have no idea how I'm going to live until the next book is out. The action-adventure/romance in this book is more 65/35, but Violet is the side kick I didn't know she needed.Everyone else will tell you how good the book is, so let's talk about the author's LGBTQA+ side characters in both this series and the Relentless series. Thank you for the gay character who lives and thrives and gets everything good s/he deserves. In the Relentless series, it was the pseudo-Guncle character, as well as one of the trainers. In this one, it's her lesbian best friend. The identities are important, but don't define them. Violet has no tragic back story. She contributes meaningfully to the storyline.I love the books because they're good. I love the Audible books because they're well read. I can't wait until this one is out on audio, too. But I'm grateful I'll be able to recommend this to any of my nephews and nieces and older students knowing that the author imagined urban fantasy where all kinds of people love all kinds of other people...when they're not magicking or poisoning or slicing them with swords, anyway.

One Knight Changed
Karen Lynch is a superb novelist and a master of words. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading her latest series Fae Games, and you can best believe I NEVER saw these twists coming. The surprises just keep coming on, leaving me whiplashed from the shock of it all. I don’t know how Jesse keeps going! As a human among Fae, Jesse has to be at the top of her game if she wants to outwit the new opponents placed in her path. No longer willing to be a pawn for the Fae, she is carving her own path and shaping herself into the warrior we all knew she could be. Though she may not be as removed from their influences as she had hoped, for they still have plans for her yet. Plans that could intertwine her life with theirs inescapably. She will be in for the fight of her life as her enemies close in on her. Thankfully, she won’t have to go this perilous road alone. She was hurt before by the people she trusted most, whom she had thought would protect and support her no matter what. And now they will need to win her trust again, for all their sakes. For unbeknownst to them all, Jesse will play a key role in maintaining and restoring balance and civility to more than just themselves. Their worlds are both at stake in this next edition of the Fae Games, and she might just be the answer they’re looking for to save them all.I fell in love with Jesse and her crew from book one and she, her family, and her friends have become a cherished part of my world. I love seeing Jesse overcome the numerous obstacles thrown her way, and if I thought Sara had it rough, Jesse’s brawn and brains can’t dodge the new level of challenges she’s facing in her own story. Though as someone who is highly invested in the lives of both of these treasured women, I can definitely see the parallels between their journeys, and the familiarities I experience in Jesse’s story make me feel like Sara’s world isn’t entirely gone from my life. A part of her kind, selfless, and courageous self lives on in Jesse. New, but not entirely different. It’s amazing to read and brings back such fond memories for me.I highly recommend this book to those who see the wonder and fantasy within their own realities. For that is what this book captures the best for me. It’s a perfect blend of the real and the imagined, the existent world and the possibilities we can only dream of. You won’t regret picking up this amazing book and series today!

Loved It!
Knight is better than Pawn and I am not surprised. I first was introduced to Karen Lynch’s writing when I read her Relentless series (if you haven’t read that series I highly recommend it!). When Pawn came out I was pleasantly surprised. But Knight took it up a notch. I love the personalities she gives her characters...human and non-human alike. The main character, Jesse uses her intelligence to navigate her new life after her parents’ disappearance. She knows her limitations but will stop at nothing to find them. The ending threw me for a loop, and now I can’t wait for the third book to come out! (Even though this book dropped 24 hours ago, lol!). Looking forward to those monthly teasers Karen.

Be prepared to be swept away into another world by this phenomenal story
I couldn’t wait to start reading Knight and had to force myself to set it down or risk getting absolutely no sleep the first night it was released. As a huge fan of Karen’s Relentless series, I was excited but nervous when I began reading “Pawn”, the first book in this series Would it live up to my expectations? It didn’t just live up to them. It exceeded them. I loved the story I reread it at least five times waiting for this book, Knight, to be released. I wanted to read Knight really slowly so I could make it last, but I couldn’t stop. I was so delighted to read the bonus material at the end of the book (but do NOT read that until you have read Knight or it will spoil it for you)Jesse is a delightful, strong and determined character and I adore her, but the best part is that Karen Lynch gives all her characters such wholeness and development. As an author of fantasy fiction myself, I love nothing more than being able to lose myself in another, fantastical world and this is what happens when I read Karen’s books.I hope Disney becomes aware of Karen Lynch and her amazing stories. I would love to see movies made of Pawn, Knight, Queen and the Relentless series!Do yourself a favor and read this book! Read Pawn first if you haven’t already. Be prepared to be swept away into a magical world and enjoy!Be sure to leave a review here on Amazon once you’ve read it. Reviews are so important to help good authors do well and write more books! My only regret in having finished Knight so quickly is now I have to wait for Queen, Book 3 in the Fae Games series. This is one amazing book! Seven stars!!Jan Anderegg(Author of Julu and Jirvania.)

Left me eagerly awaiting the next instalment
Knight is supposed to be read after Pawn (book 1).Knight was packed full of a great main character, several awesome side characters, some fantastic world building, a storyline that draws you in and let’s not forget a swoonworthy male.I absolutely LOVE Jesse, she is rare character who has everything: loyalty, bravery, independence, intelligence, strength, fierceness and compassion. Wow that cliffhanger, I’m so glad the kindle version has a preview of Queen (the next book) otherwise I think I might of had a meltdown. So many moments in this book: sad ones, funny ones, epic ones, sweet ones and a mind blowing one at the end. This book killed me but I would die this death a hundred times. Can’t wait for Queen but I’m sure that it will be worth the wait.*Spoiler* This book does mention some triggering content such as addiction, kidnapping and death.Plot: 📚📚📚📚📚Character rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️World building: 🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎Feels: 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤Heat: 🔥🔥🔥🔥Writing style: 🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊Eye catching cover: 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺Narration by Caitlin Kelly and bonus scene by Zachary Webber: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕

Another fantastic read by Karen Lynch
Another fantastic read by Karen Lynch. Honestly this author just hooks me from the first sentence with all of her books, she creates magic with words.Knight is the second book in the Fae Games series and after the betrayal Jesse faced from those she trusted in the last book I was desperate to know what was going to happen next. As soon as Knight released I plonked myself down in a comfy chair and read it all in one sitting. This is a book that just draws you in and you find you can't, and don't want to put it down. There's always great character and world building from this author and Knight was no different. I loved how we got to learn some more about the Fae and other characters. I also love that Jesse is able to look after herself, and those she cares about but also how she has grown from the first book and with the challenges she has faced and faces to where she is now. I'm really looking forward to seeing how she deals with the new challenge that has been thrown her way in the next book. I'm really excited and looking forward to the third book in this series. Already this is turning out to be one of those series that I can reread time & time again (as I've already done with Pawn and have also now read Knight twice). Five fantastic stars for Knight, I honestly don't feel that words can say how much I enjoyed reading this book so go and give it (and Pawn first of you haven't read that yet) a read as I promise you that you'll love it as much as me.

Magic. One of those books you’ll pick up again and again
I devoured this book in one sitting as soon as it came out. I’ve loved Karen Lynch since I picked up her Relentless series, but I think she’s outdone even that with Fae Games. This book picks up where Pawn left off. Jesse feels betrayed having been abandoned by Prince Vaerik/Lukas and his Royal Guard when she needed them most, and they have a lot to make up for. Faris, Faolin’s brother, is the only one she’s stayed in contact with having blocked the rest. Her parents have been found and are recovering, but their memories are missing. Danger still abounds as an item from Faerie has gone missing and needs to be recovered so that the weakness in the barrier between the two worlds can be fixed.Between her bounty hunting gigs, searching for the missing ke'tain, dodging Prince Rhys and the Seelie Royal Guard and deciding if she can forgive Lukas and her previous Unseelie friends, Jesse has her work cut out.Full of action, interspersed with the sweetness of a developing romance, this is a book that you will come back to time and time again. I absolutely love it and can’t wait for the next book, Queen, to be released.

Ever read a book in one sitting because you CANT put it down??? Yeah, Knight!
Amazing job by Karen, this second installment was everything and more....Following from Pawn we see the aftermath of everything that went down in book 1.I love all the characters- especially the unseelie prince/ guards. Jesse didnt bow down because who they where, she stood up for herself, she let them know how badly they messed up- shes everything you love in a main character.I laughed and on one scene i actually cried (such a baby) this book really pulled me in, thats what is brilliant about Karen she has that rare talent of being able to hook you, and once your hooked in you wont be able to put it down hence me staying up til 3am 🙊Lots went on it this book- and that ending 🤯 wow.. if you read the kindle you will get a sneaky peak of chapter 1, Queen (seriously needed that). The bonus POV of Lukas *hyperventilating* it just wasnt enough, im sorry but like Nikolas (Warrior) he needs his own book which would suit me great 😉.By far my Favourite Series by KarenMore than 5Stars

Good read
Told from Jesses POV, a herione who holds her own although occasionally needs rescuing. The story is based on two worlds; the human world and fairie. Jesse is human but seems to be very popular with the male fae as she is a female with red hair. Shes gutsy, brave, kind and compassionate. She doesnt allow any male treat her like trash. She has a great relationship with her best friend violet. All the characters and world building are well developed. There is plenty of action and the chemistry between her ans Lukas is off the chart but the story is not based on their romance as there isnt much going on between them. Lukas always running away and Jesse feeling rejected. I really hope there is more to it than feelings in the 3rd book as their relationship is very slow. Lukas definately needs his own book so we can feel what hes feeling and why he keeps on running away and putting up his barriers between them. Highly recommended.
