McFarlane Toys DC Justice League Movie Darkseid Mega Action Figure

McFarlane Toys continues their development of action figures for the DC Extended Universe by making action figures for Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie. Unlike the previous two DCEU movies which released one or two action figures, this collection is a solid six, with twice the exclusive variants. No Build-A-Figure, but this collection doesn’t need one. This collection continues with the Darkseid. Behold Darkseid the Lord of Apocalypse. Having never been seen before but mentioned via his symbol, an upside-down Omega in horrific visions of a dark future in Batman v Superman, he is finally seen in a flashback. Having come to Earth in an attempt to subjugate it for Apocalypse, he fails under the might of its three grand armies. Standing over 9.25 inches tall with the same articulation as other McFarlane Toys action figures and resembling the character’s appearance from the attack on the Earth. Accessories include the stand and the battle spear which measures 9 inches long. If this collection was Build-A-Figure, I’m sure this would have been the figure for it.

So the sculpt and detail of this figure is absolutely amazing. But it has many problems. Immediately opening him up both and popped off super easily. Luckily I was able to fix that. I definitely recommended to put him in hot water and when the joints so they don’t break. It’s a beautiful figure but has flaws.

I needed a big bad Darkseid figure to go with my other 7-inch scale McFarlane DC figures and this one fits the bill pretty nicely. Even though it's a movie figure, it still looks close enough to the comic book version to fit in with comic based figures as well. It's big and sturdy and very well sculpted with a nice black paint wash to bring out all those craggy details in his stone-like flesh. Overall this figure captures the movie look extremely well. He may look a little skinny, but that's how he looked in the movie too. There were some slight quality control issues with mine as both his ankles were pretty much frozen and couldn't swivel left and right. But I was able to fix them by soaking them in very hot water for a minute. After that they freed up and work fine now. However, one should not have to fix a figure right out the package. As I've seen around the web this seems to be a common problem with this figure, which is a shame. It's the main reason I gave it 4 Stars instead of 5. My only other gripe is that I wish this "shirtless" version had been the exclusive variant figure, and the upcoming armored version had been the more common release. That's the more classic looking version of Darkseid, and the one that most people want, but it's a SDCC and Target exclusive, and the pre-orders sold out in under an hour. So that figure may prove very hard to get ahold of. This one is better than nothing, but the more desirable design (with the chest armor) should have been the one that was more widely available.

A live action darkseid from the true justice league movie. It's great this is the unarmored version from the flashback scene. It's around 9 inches tall comes with a spear, a character card, and a stand that comes with every mcfarlane figure and is in good scale with the other figures as well as with the older 6 inch multiverse figures. The price was a bit steep but I'll forgive it cause it's super awesome for displaying

These figures are great for display and Amazon is very fair priced and has GREAT sales on them all of the time!!!! I highly suggest taking advantage of the sales when you are able they get to you very quickly.
