The pan lid is great!
Grease distribution is good. The handles get really hot, but the silicone covers do help.

Good Value BUT Needs Instructions
This grill pan was just what I was hoping for when my BBQ grill was out of propane. Make no mistake, food still tastes much better when prepared on a real outdoors BBQ grill. I cook year 'round outside, so I had forgotten how stinky indoors cooking can be. But with this stove-top grill pan, cooking is quicker and arguably with less mess inside. The pan does clean up easily so far. And as others have stated, it seems to be of good quality overall.Regarding instructions.....forget it... as has already been well opined. You get a nicely packaged box and the grill pan with glass lid, along with some goofy silicone pot handle grips. That's it!! For those that complained about the red pot grips, that's where some decent instructions would have helped. You DON'T cook with the silicone grips in place. Treat them like ordinary pot holders/mittens. Slip them on when (if ever) you plan to serve the cookin's at the kitchen table. The pan does sit in place on the stove burners, but if you do need to move it around some, just use regular pot holders. Same logic when you use the grill pan in the oven. Put the grips on only when taking the pan out of the oven. I just threw them in a kitchen utensil drawer and will probably never use them.Regarding the oft-complained glass lid knob being on the 'wrong side'....again, a little instructions would go a long way on that one. One reviewer said that they had a hard time cooking anything with some height to it as it interfered with the dished in lid!!! Yes, as other reviewers noted, the knob is reversed for packaging height considerations. One has to be careful though when flipping the knob to the proper position on top. Tighten it very carefully and leave it a bit on the loose side until a number of cook cycles to allow the glass to relieve its internal stress some.I'm unsure if the Ad states what the 'non-stick' material is other than it's a 2-layer process. I don't think it is ceramic either. The box says it's Xylan! There's a polymer name out of the past! I used to use Xylan to coat the pistons on my drag racing engines.....long before today's low friction polymer-coated pistons. That stuff is really slippery, but I question whether Xylan is approved as a food-grade cookware product!!?The pan does seem to distribute the heat evenly. Somewhere in the Ad, alludes to a ~ special steel plate that is bonded to the bottom....and there is. But they also say something about it having magnetic properties to aid in the heat distribution effect. I'm not sure about that claim....there's nothing ferrous that will be drawn to it, however. So far, everything that I've cooked in it came out good enough for who it was for. The thing gets hot and really fast! I'd suggest using the burner heat at medium to low....at least at first. I only cooked with the lid in place to minimize the splatter on the stove top.One final thought relative to the conditioning and care of this product, is to just go to a more reputable manufacturer's website and download a user's manual for a similar 'cast aluminum grill pan with non-stick cooking surface' and follow their advice. All in all, instructions aside, this is a pretty good grill pan IMHO.

Good value
Indoor grilling was a good factor, but the little insulated grips are difficult to put on when the pan is hot.

Handy grill pan.
So far, I am happy. Have used in oven and on stovetop. Don’t understand the handle covers. They do NOT act like potholders. They are too hot to touch, so what is the point?
