hi does this vacuum peanut butter jars also?

I have used it to seal screw top jars but putting the lid loosely on and using the marinade function. When finished the lid is firmly under vacuum.

How noisy is this chamber sealer and does it have a standby mode?

It is a vacuum pump, it will make noise but not excessive, it has a manual switch which powers the electronics and an electronic button which will switch it on and start the cooling fan, if it is not used for a few mins it switches itself off and the display will read off snd the fan will not run

I have still few embossed bags from previous machine , will they work ?

Definitely! Note that embossed bags are more expensive so purchase plain ones when you're done with those.
