So easy and professional!
This test is comparable to the cost of an out-of-pocket fee for the same lab and vastly more convenient. No appointment or waiting waiting room. I did my test during a ten minute break from my work day! Also, during the pandemic an at-home test means one less visit to a room that a bunch of people use every day. The results are easy to read, and I'm looking forward to the free consultation to learn a bit about what's next.It means a lot to me that the tests are CLIA certified. The poke was painless. And by the way, there's much less anxiety when you are in charge of the lancet.

An easy to administer test for blood sugar
Blood sugar is something we all need to be aware of and to get tested for from time to time. Cerascreen's test for blood sugar, like their other home administered tests, is easy to use with excellent directions. I was able to use a single lancet to produce enough blood to do this test and one other, for cholesterol. I look forward to receiving the test results as the completion of the testing process. But producing the sample for the test was trouble-free.

If you prick us, do we not bleed?
I had some difficulty getting blood from my fingertip with the lancets provided with this kit. I followed the instructions by running warm water over my hand and then swinging my arm around in circles to promote circulation before pricking myself, but still I wasn't sure that what I was able to squeeze out added up to the "4 large drops of blood" the instructions called for. I tried the second provided lancet on another finger, but that one barely produced any blood at all. I work with my hands a little bit, so probably the skin of my fingers is a little thicker than some. So maybe these people should provide different sizes of lancet; "Thin-Skinned Damsel," "Medium," and "Thick-Skinned He-Man." On the plus side, the lancets didn't hurt; I barely felt them.Other than that, the instructions were easy to follow. I was a little worried about the return mail package getting to its destination, because the provided label was very poorly printed and barely legible. Other reviewers have reported badly printed return labels, and it's weird that the company has let this obvious problem continue. But ultimately all went well. I got my test results a couple of days after Cerascreen reported that my sample had been received. Those results showed me at the low end of the gray area between "standard range" and "too high," and that's what I expected based on what my Dr. has told me in the past.

Takes WEEKS (not days) to Get Results
I did a Vitamin D analysis from the same company earlier this year, and had the same issues again with this A1C test.Let me start by saying that the test itself is easy to do, and the instructions are clear. You get everything you need, and just send it off in the same box.The first issue is the mailing label. It is SO faded it's barely legible. I thought it was a fluke the first time, but no, the company has printing issues. How can you not see the problem with the labels? The second issue is the amount of personal information they try to collect on the account you have to make. Name, address, email, date of birth, phone number, height, weight, disease history, etc. I'm surprised they didn't want my SSN and mother's maiden name too. No one needs my phone number to test my blood H1C. I just made it all up on the online form. The third and most vexing issue is it takes WEEKS to get the results, not the 2-3 business days they claim. They don't even acknowledge that they've received your sample. You're just left hanging and wondering. For $49, I think you can get a quicker test from another company.

Easy to Do, Reasonable Turnaround Time for Results
This hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) test kit by Cerascreen contained everything I needed to collect my blood sample, place it in the collection container, seal it in a biohazard bag, place that in a box, place the box in a large mailing envelope, and place a prepaid mailing label on the outside of the envelope. It even provided a bandaid to put on my finger after the blood sample was given. I had to create an account via the Cerascreen app in order to register the sample, and a tracking number was provided for me to be able to track my sample. My sample was received by the receptionist there on Dec 23, and Dec 29 I received notice via the app that my results were ready. The app had warned me that processing might be delayed because of the holidays, and I am quite satisfied with that turnaround time. In addition to receiving my results, I was also given a link to an article that was supposed to help explain what my number meant. I got a 404 error message when I tried to use the link, but there is so much online information available on the internet to explain how to interpret hemoglobin A1C results that I did not consider the link error to be a major issue. This test kit currently sells for $49, and for the convenience of being able to do this test at home instead of having to make an appointment and travel to a hospital, lab, or doctor's office to have it done makes it a good value as far as I'm concerned. I would have no hesitation with ordering this test again from Cerascreen if I want to check my hemoglobin A1C again at a future time.
