Good Knife Set, Very Sharp, German Steel
Good Knife Set made of German 4116 Stainless Steel, which is a low-end but well performing Martensitic Stainless Steel. It is considered the highest grade low-end steel for its corrosion & material properties being slightly less hardness (56 HRC (hardness Rockwell C-scale) compared with higher grade 400-series Stainless Steels in the ~60 HRC range which hold an edge better/longer, but that comes with a much higher price tag. For sets like these with lower-end stainless, I recommend just hand-washing them so you don't end up getting rust on the blade from washing machines which typically does to a lot of knives. The case is nice to have, with the different blade lengths and types of cutting edges, it's not the best of designs since the tips occasionally may have come out of the protector. They stay put if you strap the velcro around the handle well enough, but wish they had extended the tip protector more to prevent that from happening. The last thing I can say is that these knives are VERY sharp! Kind of an obvious thing for fillet knives, but I have had some cheaper Rapala and other knives that were definitely not THIS sharp. The handles seem to be well designed & manufactured, the grip is rubbery and has good grip on it, even with wet hands. Wash these by hand and you should be able to keep them in service for trimming meat and filleting fish, etc. for quite a long time. One test I did that gave me favorable results is that it cuts very tender meat, in this case, antelope and quail trimmings when they were thoroughly thawed and warmed up closer to room temperature during seasoning & preparing for the smoker/grill. This meat is a very tender filet and is easier to cut while partially frozen, but it cuts very easily even in this very soft state. Used them about a half dozen times, but based on what I've seen they should hold up well with hand-cleaning preserving their finish.

THIS IS A GREAT KNIFE SET!
I held off on reviewing this for a while so that I could really put it to the test. Until I bought this knife set, I always bought the $10 to $20 filet knives that I saw at Walmart or the sporting goods stores. For years, I have purchased cheap filet knives, and while they worked....I always though fileting my catch was more difficult than it should be. It was always a fighting with the "cheap" knives despite how much I would sharpen them. Since I have been fishing more lately, I decided to research and purchase a better filet knife. Like many, my research led me to many You Tube videos and reading all the Amazon reviews. Of course, there are a lot of great reviews, but many of the knives I saw cost more for one knife than this entire set cost. So, I decided to buy this set (it was $48 at the time). I am pleased to report that these knives will cut through a fish like a hot knife through butter and they allow for very clean and precise filets. I was even able to cleanly cut the skin of a Pompano off without wasting any meat. For me, this is one of these purchases that I am so thrilled about that I feel like calling all my friends who fish and telling them to buy these. It makes no sense whatsoever to go and purchase one knife for $50 to $60 dollars unless it is truly superior quality.....but with this set you get superior quality and four knives for less than $50. If this set was lost or damaged, I would purchase another in a second without consideration for any other brands. In fact, I'm thinking about buying a second set so that I can keep one in the boat and one in my garage. These are awesome knives for a tremendous price. Look no further and hit buy now...you'll be glad that you did.

Amazing
I got these for my brother as a Christmas gift who is a big time fisherman. And just from the looks of them they are amazing quality! And very sharp. It’s now almost March and he’s been doing a lot of fishing and says the knives are the best he’s ever had and they are amazing and clean up so well! He loves that it comes with the case to keep them in and keep them from banging around and getting rubbed together. The details on them are what got my attention more then anything when I was shopping for them. I loved the fish scale Handels on them and they were a nice rubber for gripping as well. He says that gripping material on them works really good that even when his hands are wet and slimy he has a good grip on them and there’s no way he will lose grip and cut himself or mess up on filleting the fish. After doing some research I found these were the BEST! And most recommended Midrange price fillet knifes on the market. Don’t waist your time looking anywhere else just buy them trust me! You won’t be disappointed

Not bad
Not as sharp as I was hoping for some fish in the tropics, but a good value.

Sharp Knives
I have had these knives as of March 31st, 2018. I wanted to test them out a little before leaving a review of them. I am definitely pleased with these knives. They are not $100 knives that will cut through a sheepshead fish in one swift motion, but they are definitely sharp and last. I have used these knives for over 300+ fish. I routinely sharpen them out of habit, but I can tell you on one trip, I took 3 friends with me on a 40-hour, 2-day fishing trip. We collectively brought back 150 fish or so. The knives performed flawlessly as we fillet each fish ranging from Mangrove Snapper, Grouper, Porgy, Amberjack. Definitely pleased with these knives I think they will last as long as I take care of them!

This is a product i like to use a lot. Yes the handle sections do look a bit weird but they fit in my hand beautifully and although the set came with a sharpener i have used to sharpen many other of my kitchen knifes i have not needed to use it yet to sharpen this knife set as the are staying very sharp. I am using them 2 or 3 times a week at the moment.
