Okuma Great Lakes Trolling Rod / Reel Combo

Ordered two of these, one came in good shape, the other came with eye insert missing out of eye closest to reel. Sent it back, ordered another, got another combo with exact same problem---two weeks now and I'm still short a rig I need for this coming weekend. Pathetic!!!! I hope the one that got here in apparently good condition works well, but, I'm not hopeful given the experience I've had so far.

Works ok. Line counter has to be reset often, but the combo works as it should. Used to pull planer boards for walleye. Like the shorter reel handles on daiwa walleye special line counter reel better.

Can't complain about the product at all. I got an 8'2" rod with the 30DL reel to use with lead core line. Even though Okuma website recommends the 45L reel for the use with lead core line, I bit a bullet and went with the smaller one. The rod is soft enough to compensate for no stretch in lead core line and the reel was large enough to hold approximately 100 yards of 50 lb braid backing, full spool of 27 lb lead core and and about 50 yards of 20 lb leader. By now I used the rod on about 4-5 trips and successfully landed some decent pike and hybrid bass.One "problem" that I had is putting the rod in Scotty's baitcasting rod holder. The fore-grip is triangular in shape and the fit is very tight.

Rod and reel is perfect for dipsy divers, it handles them very well.. this is worth the 78 dollars i spent on two of them. Might buy another 2 in the future.

I am very happy with my purchase. This pole is perfect for catching big cat fish. The pole has great action and the reel is smooth. I know this is meant for trolling but I have no problem casting with it either. Great value for the money!

Fishing off a boat is perfect with this type of reel and pole, and with the long handle, it is easy to hold with heavy weight on the pole.

Great reel and rod for the price.

Bought this for inland stripe trolling- rod and reel work great so far. This is a good value- I would buy it again or recommend to a friend

Said 4-8 days shipping, came within 48hrs!Spooled with line and took out next day, caught 2 limits of walleye, next time out 4 limits of walleye and 2 big rainbow trout! Everything still working perfectly! Best bang for the buck no question!

This rod is a downrigger rod (CPDR-862M) not the salmon trolling rod (CP-C-862M} as advertise on the Amazon' site. Stiff (S) tip vice medium (M) tip. Wasted time, the worst it took 22 days for its delivery on Prime by Canada Post in Ottawa. Not an happy customer.

Sent a different reel than shown in picture, no line counter, rod is good quality but reel is not.Probably the reel is the cheapest Okuma....does not compare to the other Okuma reel I ordered
