Works as advertised
For automotive harness work this is one of the better tapes out there. It stands up to the environment and if you ever have to work on the harness again can be removed easily and doesn't leave a residue mess.

For exterior wire protection.
I bought this tesa 51036 PET cloth automotive wire harness tape for organizing and protecting wiring, and it definitely lives up to the “high-performance” name. The cloth material feels durable and holds up well to heat and abrasion. It wraps smoothly, sticks firmly, and gives wiring a clean, OEM-style look. I really like that it doesn’t leave a gooey residue like some cheaper tapes. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricier than standard electrical tape, but the quality is noticeably better. If you do a lot of automotive work or want a professional finish, this is worth it. Overall, very satisfied — solid 4 stars.

This is the stuff you need for a engine harness. Don't use electrical tape.

TESA, certainly better than Aliexpress/Temu cheap tapes
So… I recently swapped my plastic valve cover with an aluminim one. Naturally, heat transfer due to the aluminum is higher and I didn’t want my new ignition coil connectors to become brittle and fall apart again. So I wrapped all the cables and even the plastic connector shells with this tape. Of course it has better adhesion and moldability than knockoff tapes. I can confidently say this because I ordered a Temu cloth tape, wich would barely stick on surfaces. The roll comes with plenty of tape, so the price is fair. After wrapping the entire harness, I still have a lot of tape left. You end up with an OEM finish in your engine bay. Finally, time will tell if its legit and doesnt become hard and crusty because of the engine heat, but I believe this will work great, it is Tesa after all. Recommended!
