what is the inner diameter?

I just measured it with my calipers. 1.4 inches internal diameter or 35.6mm. Hope this helps

Can I use this to connect my vacuum hose to the suction wall fitting my Hayward Navigator uses?

I don't know. The issue is what the diameter is of the wall fitting. I bought one and found it is too big for my wall fitting. In the photo, it appears that the bottom end is smaller than the top end. What they sent me is the same dimension on top and bottom, so it works well to connect two pool hoses, but not to my suction wall opening. Is the photo misleading? Did I get the wrong part? I don't know.

Have vacuum head w/graduated male connector. Std 1.5" hose is a little too sm to fit over male connector on head. Will this couple the hose to head?

No. This is a double male connector to couple two suction hoses together.
