Yummy- tastes great and fun to grow.
I started these thym seeds in a hydroponic (Aerogarden) and when they were big enough I transplanted them into my outdoor garden. It is sweet, growing well and is very easy to care for. Picking fresh herbs when you're cooking is the BEST! I live in the Arizona desert and this thym loves the heat!

16 seeds and NO sow by/expiration date? C'mon!!!
Just received the seed packet and there are total of 16 seeds in it. That and there is no sow by/expiration date on the envelope, nothing. Setting up my winter hydroponic herb garden, I have no idea if these 16 seeds are even viable anymore. Wth?

Thyme Seeds
3 stars because I can't seen to get them past germination, not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried a heat mat, dome, no dome, planting in the soil, planting on top of the soil. My soil so NOT too dry or too moist. I like to predampen soil, squeeze out excess water, which always gives me great success. It's also not too dense/heavy either. I'm trying for one last time without the heat mat, dome slightly open. Of course they have a lamp, and they're also in the south facing window, I know they're getting enough light. Seeds germinate quickly but at the rate of loss I'm having, I wish there were more seeds in the pack. I'm the kind of person who gets frustrated until it works so I'm going to purchase again to see if I can figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Grows SLOW
Once the seeds popped and had a few days to grow they went under the LED equivalent of a 200 watt HID light and six weeks later they are healthy, but less than 1/4 inch taller. Thyme is not a tall plant, but 8 weeks and they are less than 1.5 inches tall. The ones outdoors in planters are the same. Barely any growth. It might be because they are producing roots instead of plant, but I want the plant not roots to season my stew.

Fast shipping, good price
I ordered twice from Gardeners Basics and both times the seeds arrived sooner than others I ordered from. Good germination rate.
