Q: Are all pieces attachted, or are they separate?

Both! The letters are strung together on a long ribbon. You can place the letters close together or put space between the letters. The hanging strings are separate. They make the long twirls when pulled apart. The pompon looking balls are made of a paper material. You separate the layers to make the Pom Pom look. It’s really quite easy and fun! I put some on door frames and light fixture.

Q: How do you hang them from the ceiling or wall?

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the version I purchased came with more pieces than I realized. We hung pieces and parts from the curtain rods, ceiling and wall. Our grandchildren thought these were very fun and festive.

Q: Are the decorations flame retardant?

While I am not an expert my answer would be no. They are paper which burns easiily.

Q: What do glue dots attach to?

There are sticks that come with the package so you can glue the decorations on the sticks and use as table centerpieces.
