I just got mine. It came without the knob and screw for the lid. Amazon wanted me to rebox the whole thing and return it so I could get another one with all the parts. I told them “just send me the missing parts. It will be easier, cheaper and I would be satisfied” I then the manufacturer and they said I had to go through the seller. My problem was not resolved. Luckily a knob fit from an old lid.

How deep is the actual pan?

It's wide and shallow. I measured it a bit under 2" deep and about 11.5" square.

Bpa free? of course it is. it isn't plastic! the real question is whether or not this is pfoa/ptfe free or is it teflon? very misleading.

Not being a chemist or chemical engineer, I am unqualified to comment on these issues. I use mine and don't worry about those kinds of things. Too many other things out in the world that could make me sick or kill me than my skillet coating.l

Much better non-stick coating than the typical Teflon found on similar pans, which makes for a nicer time cooking and cleaning up after. This also has a little bit thicker aluminum around the heating element, so while you still get a hot ring in the pan, it does help to keep things a bit more evenly heated than my previous cheap skillet. Very happy overall, was definitely an upgrade from my previous one, and a very handy appliance overall.

Totally submersible to clean. Hard to find electric fry pan that is. Temperature settings are accurate for cooking. Need minimal oil to fry cutlets etc. Made excellent risotto using this pan. Love it.
