Great as a refresher

If you have been away from algebra for a while and need a quick refresher I would go with this text in combination with "Practical Algebra: A Self-teaching Guide" by Slavin and Selby. If you are new to algebra some of the problems may be a tad involved for you in which case first solve all the problems in Slavin and Selby's book and then take this on.An excellent value, priced right, as are most of the books by Chris McMullen.

Helps my son to review concepts learned in school

This book helps my son (and me) review lessons taught in school that he may have not quite grasped. Very helpful and well written.

I don't recommend using the book for begining fundamental concepts in algebra.

The problems are far more advanced if you are studying just basic fundamental Algebra.
