This is one of those books that's difficult to rate. It's not a sit and read quietly book, but it is also a sit and read quietly book. It's one of those Sanskrit texts with great translation and commentary that we hope to understand more as we read. That's how I approach it. What I love most is the author's devotional approach to the topic and translation and how there is a very inspiring "one liner" in nearly every commentary of each mantra. This book gets five stars because of how reading it makes me feel.

My only real gripe is sometimes the Swami will exclude things from the English translation, I think because he doesn't know where it fits in. His commentary is certainly interesting, though I get the feeling that there are layers of meaning he leaves unspoken, and sometimes he seems to hint at this in the book.
