This is an effective product; I'd recommend starting with a reduced dose.
Daily Decaffeinate definitely reduces caffeine's effects and can improve sleep quality dramatically. I enjoyed some of the best sleep I'd had in years after starting with this product. Have you noticed that skipping caffeine for a day or two causes headaches? Well, in that case the headache doesn't really begin until your first afternoon of "cold turkey," so the onset's spread out over four or five hours. But this product worked a lot faster than that (for me). So the withdrawal symptoms were the same, but they kicked in very fast--as quickly as half an hour after I took a dose. Before I'd gained experience with the product this made me nervous. So, if you're rolling with a heavy caffeine back-log to start with (as I was), I recommend starting with a much smaller dose--just open a pill and remove most of the powder. These are 100mg pills. I found that in the beginning, as little as 5 to 10 mg (a pill with 90% of its powder removed) had a major effect on me. I had to slowly work my way up from there. Even today, I never take more than about 30mg in a pill. If you wind up dumping some of the powder to reduce the dose size, you can save it and use it later. I save mine in a glass cup. You can order empty size 0 capsules to use whatever you've saved. Also, unfortunately for some people, myself included, there remains no substitute for abstinence. Although this product can help to extend back-to-back days of glorious, wicked caffeination, it'll still be necessary to go completely without every so often to "re-set" your system. After seven months of experiments I haven't managed to figure out how to take this stuff at the right times and dosages to keep the party rolling for over about five or six days. Whether you drop down to green tea for a few days or choose "absolute zero" for recovery's up to you. This product seems just as effective with green and black teas as it is with coffee. I once had some questions about this product and used their Web page contact form. I got a very helpful and friendly reply from a dude named Josh. That's how I learned that these come in #0 capsules. I was really impressed by that kind of customer support. Finally, I've noticed that this product seems to reduce the effects of caffeine more than it actually eliminates it. At least with my reduced 10mg to 30mb doses, I've noticed that that caffeinated feeling seems to *come back* about five hours after I take a dose. This makes me wonder whether this product may be masking the effect more than really eliminating the chemical. And this could explain why I've found that occasional breaks from caffeine have still been necessary; for me at least, this product doesn't feel like it prevents the gradual build-up of caffeine in my system. But considering that there's nothing else out there that does what this stuff does, it's still awesome and worth your time to seriously play around with!

This works!
When this product is not out of date, it is fantastic and really works. I use it on sleepless nights when I know I have had too much caffeine. It helps me get rest in about 30 minutes from taking it. Works like an charm!

This works very well, and thereโs nothing else like it out there (as far as I know).
This stuff is great. I use it for special environments/days (usually work-related) when I need to have some caffeine later in the day. Iโm someone who is naturally affected dramatically by caffeine, so if I have so much as a black tea at 3 PM on a regular day, Iโll have a hard time falling asleep at the right time that night. But with Daily De-Caffeinate, if I need to, I can even have a coffee at 8 or 9 PM and still fall asleep, if I take this about two hours before I want to fall asleep. For a while, a few years ago, I used this almost daily, in order to be able to regularly have caffeine late into the day. These days, I use it more sporadically, as I generally only drink tea now, not coffee (which is better for my overall mood (less anxiety)); but this is still super useful for those times when I have to be alert in the evening. Honestly a game changer; highly recommend!

It works but does feel weird
When itโs doing its thing and messing with your liver enzymes it feels a bit nauseous. Also it does cause a slight headache because you immediately go into caffeine withdrawal. I definitely would not take it every day . Itโs best just not to drink caffeine past noon . But if you want to drink an energy drink or coffee in the afternoon and are sensitive to caffeine insomnia. This is definitely worth it. Super expensive but extremely high quality.

It works, but I don't understand it.
This does work to counteract the effects of caffeine but for me it quits working after a few days of use. I can feel it working pretty quick like 20-30 minutes, I just lose my alertness that the caffeine gave me, but I question how it works. I don't understand how it can work so quick if the supposed mechanism of action is to increase caffeine metabolism. I don't see how I could metabolize all that caffeine in 20-30 minutes that would normally take me like 6+ hours. I feel like it is just a good sedative with it's own actions but I have no proof. It's expensive and since it quits working after a few days I just avoid caffeine to begin with and save these for my occasional caffeine use.

Awful nausea. Didn't connect it to the pills until hours later.
Purchased this product months ago just to have it on hand for "next time" after accidentally having a highly caffeinated drink. This afternoon Starbucks gave me a caffeinated instead of the decaf drink that I ordered. Felt it immediately but couldn't make it to my product until I got home from work a few hours later. I was jittery and shaky all day, but so looking forward to my magic pills (I should have read the bad reviews instead of just the good ones). Took two when I got home, as it says on the bottle, and about an hour later started to have a slight stomach ache. I blamed the caffeine, until about an hour after that when I was fully nauseous and an hour after that not even able to function - I felt like I had the flu or food poisoning. Caffeine has never done that to me before. I came back to Amazon to look at the reviews and lo and behold this is an extremely common side effect. I feel so awful right now as I'm typing this, and I wish I had just dealt with the effects of the caffeine. I would have been okay by now, or worst case scenario, I would have had a little trouble getting to sleep. Instead now I feel horrible. Not worth it. I'll just stop going to Starbucks and make my own drink at home. I usually do, I was just being lazy today. Paying for it now.

WARNING* Not for heavy caffeine users!!
I have no doubt that this product works but it needs to have a warning label like other NSAIDs that it can cause heart palpitations, heart attack, or stroke. I believe this product is working as described but for those who have consumed caffeine in a regular basis for an extended period of time, please be warned, it will send your body into a painful and immediate withdrawal. All 3 nights i have taken this product i have had horrible migraines, neck and shoulder swelling, abd auras like no others. I wake up feeling entire body pains especially in my lower back and legs. I can only imagine this is from withdrawal symptoms. As soon as I have my caffeine limit for the day, the pain and headache is gone until I take DE-CAFFEINE again, then it all comes back. I wish I would have read some of the other reviews first. I believe these are indicators that the product is doing it's job but may be unsafe for some. I am currently trying to quit energy drinks and take in around 200-350 mg of caffeine per day. Proceed with caution.
