Doe it work for removing the cage nuts?

The Starcase Cage Nut insertion tool is very good at inserting cage nuts (best I have used) but not very good at removing cage nuts. I use the cage nut tool that looks like a large pair of toe nail clippers, a flat head screw driver or my fingers to remove cage nuts.

Can this tool also be used for removal of cage nuts?

It is not very handy for the removal of cage nuts. It could be used for removing but I find it easier to just use a small flat head or fingers to remove.
