Fits my 2008 VW rabbit.
Saved us a trip to the mechanic. Key was locking up in the old ignition and would not turn. Very easy to install and fit perfectly. Car starts right up

Fit perfectly
Installed for my lady’s 2011 Jetta because she couldn’t turn her key counter clockwise to shut the car off. Battery had to be disconnected overnight so it wouldn’t drain. Pretty easy switch . Only PINA was those two bolts you have to hammer out with a chisel (but that’s nothing to do with this part). Functions perfectly when you switch in the original key part etc.

Almost a year and still works.
Was worth it. Only have to remember to transfer the chip from the original key to the new key to turn otherwise your car will turn off automatically.

Junk
Didn’t work at all. It doesn’t have the part that reads a key so therefore it won’t work. I found out the hard way. Spent all the time installing it and paid 2 people just to tell me that it won’t read the key. Then had to tow the car to the dealership and pay $1200 to get them to replace it again

Fits, easy to install
It takes some work and knowledge to install all the ignition parts but it is somewhat easy to do. Word to the wise though, if you need to use the key cylinder and keys you will need to reuse the RFID pill from your old key(s) as these do not have it nor a transmitter in them. It is easy to do and only requires you to pop open the old key, remove the RFID pill and pop open the new one and place it in the prefabbed hole.

It didn't work at all started my car for a second then it would shut off and say no key. Now I can't refund it cause I've spent the last month trying to get my car to read the key. Save your time and money and buy something else.

Ok since most of the reviews for this product aren’t very detailed I figured I would write one to try to help anyone that may be in the position I was in. so I have a 2006 VW Jetta with a 1.9L, when I bought the car I only got 1 key and 1 fob, dumb of me to not get another one made up I know, but where we are lol it is what it is. So a few months ago my key snapped in half and got stuck in the ignition, took me (a pretty experienced mechanic) around 6 hours to complete the job of changing it out BECAUSE I was not able to move the steering wheel at all due to the lock being engaged. I had to use a punch to loosen 2 screws not including the anti theft bolts that you also have to use a punch to remove. Alas I got the ignition in and everything was plug and play.after installation I now have a steering wheel icon on my dash which indicates there is something wrong in the steering colum/ power steering pump but I figure I may have knocked something out of alignment during the install so I won’t hold that to the product. Fitment was very good and all of the wire connections plugged right in. The steering lock works, everything turns and functions smoothly and overall it seems to be a quality product for the money. HOWEVER to make this work properly you will need to buy a new key fob with a blank key, (preferably 2 so you have a spare), and then get the key cut to match the one that comes with your ignition, this must be done because you are going to have to put your immobilizer transponder into a key fob BECAUSE if you just use the key that came with the ignition and let the fob hang on a key-ring, it will not pick up the signal in the ignition due to it only having a couple inches of range, thus you will need a proper key fob with a key so that the transponder can be right against the ignition as it was designed to be. Overall for the money this is a great deal to be honest. You will need to be or know someone that is mechanically inclined to install this CORRECTLY. 4/5 stars from me.
