Dangerous!
Love this knife. Caution it is very sharp. Kinda clunky when closing keep it away from your body. I accidentally dropped it when closing it and it went right through my shorts and cut my thigh deep. The safety stop to keep you from cutting your fingers off works well. Make sure you have a good grip.

So sharp I had to go to the ER
I love this knife, despite my trip to the hospital. Itโs compact, rugged, and sharp. So sharp that right out of the box I cut myself. Note, while closing the knife there is a snag point to keep the knife from closing on your own fingers, good feature, but if youโre not ready for it, it may cause you to drop the knife. Even while sitting cross legged and the knife only falling 6-8 inches it pierced through my foot near my ankle, severing an artery. The knife was so sharp I felt almost no pain, though there may have been some shock involved. I highly recommend the gerber doubledown, just donโt drop it on your own foot.

Solid and Sharp
I've been looking at this thing for months and finally tried it out. I like it! The folded package into its sheath is compact and solid. The sheath itself is solidly built and holds the knife well. The knife is easy to deploy, once you know how. I didn't like the safeties at first, but after working with it for a while I quickly figured out why they are there. With such a large blade that many are not used to handling, it would be easy to make a mistake. I actually like the green color, and the handle is easy to grip and control. There is a lot of leverage in the length making Shor work of whatever you are swinging at. The blade is sharp and holds an edge well! I did several chores with it, as well as batoning and it never lost its edge. I look forward to putting it through its paces this spring. Be aware! The locking mechanism at the vase is VERY stiff at first. It's taking a lot to get it where I can open it just by hand. I now see it as a good thing as it will positively hold the handles open or closed. Just don't look for quick deployment. Also, one of the four squeeze locks on mine doesn't have a spring holding the button out. It's ok as I have three more to hold the locks, but it is something to be aware of. Overall I am glad I bought it. I will have some fun with it!

Badass
So in true form fashion within the first hour i took it apart and took the four locks out. Loosened the main bolts and loc tite applied. It is now a giant butterfly knife. And its awesome! One hand operating and the giant lock at the bottom suffices more than enough to keep it closed or open. I will update once i chop or cut brush or branches. But it comes nice a sharp its heavy like its supposed to be for a machete. But yea they could do without the four locks. Its over kill

One sturdy tool
This thing is a beast, very well built (in the USA), I would recommend it to anyone that want a machete but not the long type that you are familiar with. It is very solid, no rattles, and once the mechanism is locked open, it takes effort to unlock it. I like the built in safety feature with having to press the buttons to open and then again to change hand position to fully open and it operates the same when closing it for storage. It comes with a nice nylon sheath to store it in. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it.

Is what it says it is
It came sharp oit of the box but with a little tweaking with my stone and wart hog it is razor sharp. Spent the afternoon splitting oak and it went right through it. The more you open and close it the easier it becomes. If yoir interested in bushcraft this is the ticket enjoy.
