The Absolute BEST Rice Cooker
I do not understand the few not so good reviews, as this is an absolutely PERFECT rice cooker! The rice comes out just right. And the steamer tray, works just as well. The only thing, I recommend just making one cup (actually 3/4 cup of dry rice) - to leave plenty of room to build up the steam. So, in one little appliance you can make rice as well as veggies for your dinner! Also, the stainless steel inner pot is great. I don't have to worry about non-stick material flaking off. I find the stainless cleans up easily.

A Small Rice Cooker That Makes Very Good Rice
I'm finally upgrading my various cookers to cook with stainless steel inner pots instead of non-stick pots.Today I used this rice cooker for the very first time. When first opening the package, I immediately noticed a couple of things. First, the looks like a quality cooker. Second, the cooker is smaller than I'm used to. It is only a 1.2 quart cooker whereas I'm used to 3 quart. But actually, the small size is perfect for one person. For dinner, I made 1 cup (before cooked) of brown rice. I also used the included stainless steel steam basket to steam some sardines, smoked oysters and a tomato. For the rice, I added 1 cup rice, 1 1/2 cup water and about a tablespoon of olive oil to prevent the rice from sticking to each other.Overall, I am impressed with the results. I didn't time how long it took to cook the rice but I say about 30-40 minutes. Upon uncovering, the rice looked great. They didn't stick to each other. However, the very bottom did have rice that was overcooked and stuck to the inner pot bottom. The steamed food was fine in temperature and taste. As for cleaning, I think having stainless steel help. I do have to soak the rice that sticks to the pot overnight. By morning, I expect them to easily come off. The stain steel basket was easy to clean with just liquid soap and water even though it got a little oily with the sardines and smoked oysters. As I mentioned, the inner pot is small. With just 1 cup of brown rice, the rice almost filled the pot. I figure if I was cooking white rice, that might even rise more and fill the pot. I haven't tried with white rice. Here is what I like and dislike of this rice cooker:Likes:-------- made of good material and seems durable- stainless steel safer and no worry about non-stick coating anymore- small size perfect for 1 personDislikes:----------- rice did stick to bottom of pot even after I added some olive oil to rice (but should clean off easily after soaked)I give the Aroma Housewares 1.2 QT stainless steel rice cooker 5 stars.

Great Product!
Great rice cooker! I don’t think it actually cooks 7 cups of rice, and the rice does stick to the bottom a little. However, it makes the fluffiest rice I’ve ever had, doesn’t boil over, cooks quickly, and is very easy to use and clean. Overall, it’s a great product for a great price, and I’m very happy with it.

What a gem of an appliance for just a pittance!!
This little guy just arrived and I made my first two “rice cups”. I italicized it because I had no idea there was such a thing. WHAT a find!! I hate cooking rice on the stove. So I would make it in the microwave. But you have to use a very large covered dish, put it on a plate because invariably mine would boil over, cook on High, cook after at 50%, let it sit for X minutes. I mean that is a lot of hullabaloo for a little rice, don’t you think? This guy is toss in 1 to 3 “rice cups”, fill the water to the designated line on the stainless steel bowl, put the lid on and switch it to Cook. My rice was ready in 23 minutes. No fuss no muss. THIS is my kind of cooking!! I added 1 tsp of canola oil and I had next to no sticking. But really, it’s stainless steel, a little soak and it will wipe off. I also used the steamer basket as soon as it switched to warm and wilted some spinach for my rice bowl in 3 minutes. This is my new best friend. Next brown rice, wild rice, steel cut oats, steam eggs and I hear it will make dessert! Whoo! Get yourself one. This is a high-quality product, the stainless steel bowl is heavy as is the steamer. And a BONUS as of this writing, I just downloaded “Rice Cooker Cookbook for Absolute Idiots” for FREE!! I’ve had time to check it out and it is fabulous.

Failed Upgrade - worse than the cheaper model
I have had an aroma rice cooker of this size for a few years now. It's actually the perfect size for a person like me - I eat rice most days, often for just myself or for 2-3 people. My cheapo one started giving inconsistent quality and I was concerned that the heating element was going out or one of the wires was getting old.I could have just bought another cheapo, but this rice cooker looked so much nicer. No non-stick coating to flake off, shiny and sleek looking. Even though it cost more than twice as much, I sprung for the stainless steel model.**That was a MISTAKE!** The rice always BURNS and sticks to the bottom of the pot!!! I have been using this style of automatic rice cooker since I was a little girl and I have NEVER seen rice burn like this. I tried all the tricks - greasing the bottom with oil or butter, more water, taking the rice pot out the second it clicked from "cook" to "warm" - it didn't matter. Every time we went to serve the rice, we would lose a good half inch, and scrubbing it is a total nightmare.I assumed that the unit was running too hot. But I inserted my old cheapo nonstick rice pot and magically, the next time I made rice, there was NO STICKING, NO BURNING! It came out perfectly fluffy and the pot was just as easy to clean as always. I can even let the pot run on keep warm for a bit before I return to the kitchen and serve it up.The main reason I want a rice pot are for convenience and to allow my children to make rice without my help. If I have to babysit the pot and it STILL burns, I would do better to just use a regular pot on the stove. Then at least it won't make a mess or become a fire hazard.Do yourself a favor and keep looking. If others have had better luck, then Aroma is producing an inferior product with inconsistent quality. My experience makes me want to go with a different brand next time. I'm so frustrated at the money I wasted.

Pretty good, steamer is a bit flimsy
I should start out by saying I had very high hopes for this product, so that might be why it feels like a tad bit of a disappointment. What I like:- Inner pot where the rice is made is HEAVY DUTY. I feel like I could drop it on a tile floor and the floor would take more damage than the inner pot. It’s got a nice heavy bottom that’s reinforced.- using is very simple. Just one press of a button.- the steamer pot has PERFECTLY sized and spaced holes. You don’t have to worry about anything cut to bite size falling through the holes, but things the size of corn kernels might fall down. I would rule against putting a bag of frozen mixed veggies in as I would worry they might fall into the rice. What I don’t like:- the plastic handles are hollow on the bottom! I had hoped to own this appliance for life, but I worry about the durability of the plastic handles.- the steamer basic is much thinner than the rice pot. Like, it almost bends when pushed on. I’m not a fan of how thin it is.- due to having no non-stick coating, you will have to add more water to keep rice from sticking to the bottom. Not really a bad thing, just something that I noticed will be a learning curve for me.Overall, I don’t think this will replace the steamer basket that I have for using over my stovetop, only because I don’t think that this machine will last long enough to outlive my stovetop steamer. However, this machine is a DREAM when it comes to meal prepping when the meal preps can be made with rice and veggies. Steam those veggies, cook the meat on the stovetop and you’re golden. I would recommend for someone who meal preps, for someone who needs quick rice and veggies, or a student who is low on time.

The best rice cooker we've owned and the stainless steel bowl and streamer is awesome.
We wanted a bit smaller rice cooker, because our 8 cup cook up too much counter space and the bowl inside had the non-stick coating was scratching off with use. Yuk! I wanted a healthier option for my family of 4 adults that makes rice very often. I ordered this rice cooker and could not be more impressed! This 6 cup makes more than enough rice, it's cooks the rice perfectly and the 1 lever operation is very simple. Not having a non-stick coated bowl is wonderful and easier to clean, too. This medium sized cooker can cook many things and steam veggies, fish, chicken, etc.. while the rice is being made! It's cool! I love the size and fits nicely on our counter top, too. It's a little bit more for the stainless rice bowl and steamer, but I feel it was well worth the few dollars more. We love this price cooker and give it 5 Stars!

Great rice and veggie steamer! Check thermal overload before using to ensure it's secured well
Update, still love the rice cooker. It quit working a few months in. We replaced the thermal overload (safety function) and it's been working great again. It was a loose connection from assembly which caused heat and to short out. When you first get yours if your handy access the interior to ensure the screws that secure the thermal overload to prevent this. We bought the replacement thermal overload on Amazon, super cheap and worth getting this rice cooker back in action. We love this rice cooker! So easy to measure and markers for water level. Veggie steamer makes them just perfect. Rice and steamer are stainless, easy to clean, makes rice so fluffy and quick too. Wanted stainless rice and veggie steamer basket. This one was everything we wanted in a rice cooker!

Does not work in the EU
Not suitable in the EU. you would need a step down converter to operate. This should be way clearer in the description.

Unhealthy burn/smoke when using. Did all steps correctly but still
Burn/smoke when using. Did all steps correctly but still, supposed to be normal first use but this much doesn’t feel safe nor healthy and second time was the same. Bought a non toxic stainless steel version because I wanted a healthier version of a Rice cooker but it shouldn’t be this complicated and this much unhealthy smoke coming off even after correctly doing all the steps. It feels unhealthy and above all very dangerous. It was not ‘some’ seconds or minutes and not a little bit. Wouldn’t recommend it. Better to find a Glass non toxic version then. Don’t waste your money on this. Also asked a refund but seller doesn’t exist anymore and 200€ with shipment just in the garbage if nobody tries to help me.
