Small handmade wood candle holder--rearing unicorn, sized to hold a birthday candle (for candles with diameter of about 1/4" / 6mm). The small all-wood creature wears only a food-safe finish, and is just the party animal all parties need. Whether it's a cupcake, a layer cake, or a sheet cake, all cakes look better with small animals as part of the decoration. This listing is for one candle holder. Please note that since each is handmade, every candle holder is unique and will vary slightly from that pictured. It starts with sketching unicorns. Then I scan in the best, and cut the figure out of wood using a hand-guided scroll saw - not a laser cutter, so the edges are just the wood (not black from the laser) and each animal is unique. I hand sand each animal, then polish using a food-safe beeswax-based finish following a centurie-old method. These are made so that they can be handed down across generations. I have vintage wooden birthday candle holders that inspired me to make these. However, some have mentioned worry about using wood for candle holders, so under controlled circumstances, I let candles burn out in multiple sample holders (different woods, different finishes, multiple candles burning in one holder at a time, since some hold multiple candles). Each candle scorched the edges of the indentation before the flame died out, but that was all the damage I could inflict! Perfect for all celebrations, but warning: small parts, choking hazard, not to be used as playthings for the littlest ones. This, as with everything I make, has imperfections that are shown to the best of my ability in photographs-- blemishes and misalignments and color variation and all that may come with the celebration of the handmade.
